Why is it that the characters with common sense always get defeated by the people who never think about their actions and the consequences of them?

Well whatever. It was obvious Naruto & Killer Bee would get the go-ahead. Did Kishimoto really need to waste three or four chapters on something that we all knew was inevitable? At least the flashbacks are over--for the moment.

Yep the stalling seems to be over for the moment. But the plot is at a stand still. Where is Sasuke, did he forget about him or something. Also what is Pain's and Itachi's purpose in the war, if Kissimoto wants to show them let them do something. But I dont think anyone cares about the Raikage's history so there was no point in the flashback. But the next chapter is probably about Shikimaru's dad solution to the Zetsu's impersonating and killing the ninja's

People need to think a bit. :/
Yeah, it's not the most actiony sequence in the manga, but it's character development. He's making random characters not so random. People would be complaining if either had a bigger role later on because they were just so random. And the easiest way for character development? Seeing their past and what made them that way and what needs to be fixed.

I thought the chapter was pretty good and the story is starting to move forward. I actually listen to what Ei And Bee have to say now and not just bypass them because they might not matter in future chapters. Kishi most likely went so into their characters for some reason or another.

@Ice: it pleases me that Sasuke is gone for a bit. As far as I can recall Madara had no intention of releasing Sasuke until it was time for his final clash with Naruto. Either Madara will free Sasuke, or Madara will die and the jutsu will be undone and Sasuke be freed. I reckon it's more likely that when Madara is running low on troops he will unleash Sasuke to kill as many as his psychotic little mind wants.

I actually liked this chapter, but series like Naruto and Bleach (as opposed to Hunter X Hunter and One Piece which have a broader range of likeable characters) can depend on certain characters if you like them. I didn't mind a few weeks of Bee and Raikage, but I sure as hell don't want any more Uchiha flashbacks. Although we WILL get them in the Naruto/Sasuke battle.

Everything has some value to it. Even if I don't like the manga you read I realise it gives you joy so I see how it has value. Maybe with patience I can get into a series I couldn't before.
