Shounen. Better proportions. MUCH better proportions. And no eyes that take up half the face. none

Lmao i agree, especially for the guys that have tiny heads and giant bodies, long arms and hands that are bigger than their heads.

It sounds like your talking about Skip Beat..?

Never read it, i'm not sure but i've seen that kind of art with quite a few shoujo that i've read. But i don't read shoujo much, i prefer seinen.

Hmm, talk about art is talk about taste...
it's an ambiguous topics and a never ending debate...
I myself prefer shounen art since it's simpler and eyes-friendly
while at the same time maybe yes, i agree that shounen arts
are more realistic and proportional in term of body
in shounen art, most of female have boobs and male have muscles

whereas in shoujo art, female charas tends to have slim body (and tiny boobs)
and all the male is very thin and slender.
and as a normal guy, of course, i'm a true fans of woman boobs smile wink grin

still there are plenty of shoujo art that as good as shounen
and i thinks skip beat is rocks (even with it's weird proportion body)

shoujo cause I generally don't like shounen cause their so plain and the main character MOSTLY starts off with some kind of idiot/weakling or asshole and then gets all nice and strong but shoujo can be very unoriginal too. (I'm not saying I hate shounen cause I like a couple of shounen mangas like naruto, bleach, detective Conan and pandora hearts though I find naruto art a bit rushed and not so good). I HATE old fashioned shoujo mangas like those from yuu watase and sailor moon (no offnce I like the plot what I'm talking about is the art) cause the noses are WAY to pointy and the chin is so long and the mouth so far away from the chin and the eyes have so many little pointy highlights and there are so many things I could say about it but I'd better stop before someone kills me I really like Arina T.
anemura(Fullmoon wo sagashite, Shinshi Doume cross and sakura hime kaden),Matsuri Hino (Vampire Knight and Merupuri), Shouoto Aya (barajou ni kiss and S.L.H), Tooyama Ema (watashi ni XX shinasai), Haruta Nana (stardust wink)

shoujo, as being the shoujo fanatic i am *_*. I also don't tend to read shounen since it seems too eh, weird, since they make the girl's breast so large, feels awkward reading it xD.

I prefer shounen to shoujo, not just because of my preference of punches to roses, but because shoujo manga tends to keep with a lot of cliches that I always tend to see i.e. girl is nervous to tell the guy she likes him and there are all these stupid shapes floating around out of nowhere to help us sympathize with the character. In shounen, the attitude of a lot of characters is "I know what I want and I'm gonna go get it," and they don't falter on their convictions so EASILY like in shoujo manga unless there is a big hole in it, which is what I like about shounen manga so the art around them is a "determined" feel usually. Of course, there are shoujo manga with this exception but they are an endangered species. So, pretty much the characters define the art in the manga, and that's why shounen is generally better. biggrin

LOL i was thinking the same thing XD. I guess that's one distinct shoujo art.

Thumbs up to all those who said they like manhwa art and Bride of the Water God
I find that I stare for an excessively long period of time mostly on manhwa art like again Bride of the Water God or Love at First Sight. There's also good manhwa shounen art like Veritas. Man those girls are soooo pretty and their bodies actually look sexy. I mean they're boobs are big but not too big XD. The guys I don't stare at much, but I got to say I like they're body proportions too. They are MUSCLED but not too much XD.

But you know since I'm a girl and I like my bishies and stare at them for a good couple minutes - I'll go for shoujo.I also love it when shoujo mangas are detailed about clothing and have some damn nice fashion style.

Well I guess overall my preference for me is whoever got good looking characters for me to oggle at =P,

Every artist has there different style. Personally i prefer styles that are more proportioned as opposed to the regular shoujo style where there eyes take up half there face or noodle people. Hate noodle people. CLAMP is famous for noodle people.

I think he/she means really long legs and arms that don't have any figure, for example special A anime or tsubasa reservoir chronicles (just look for it on goggle image)

lol j/k.
Like above, I think she means thin people.

On topic. Shounen art. Like many above said, I dislike the highly disproportionate people depicted in manga. Though, both demographic comics suffer from this, I think shoujo's lot worse in general... with noodle people.

Shonen is just much more eye-pleasing to me. "Noodle People" sums it all up ,in my opinion.
