Holy shoot....there's too many similar panels that I can brush aside and call it coincidence. I have to say, my respect for that artist also dropped all the way down.

Some of them can be passed off as coincidences, but the last Star Wars one is really too similar... That one was just a blatant copy. The others might have been referenced or something, since it's similar but not exact. [not enough to convict it of plagiarism...]

They're extremely similar, but not similar enough... ): Like we know they're copied, but they're tweaked just enough that one can't fully convict it of plagiarism. They look like they were referenced or copied, but they don't seem to be entirely traced. [Jung-man's being really tricky o___o]

But back to the anime topic, I think Witch Hunter has anime potential, but it needs more exposure in Japan. Manhwa that have been made into anime were relatively popular in Japan before becoming an anime... Witch Hunter is almost unknown in Japan.

I've seen stuff like this all the time you can pick anything from any media and find stuff like this at varying levels. The thing is all of the examples could have been cut out of the story without any loss. (with maybe a few odd jump in conversation due whole page being removed.) The last two i call that more inspired the star wars one aside i can think a dozen places I've seen architecture like in lotr like that.

On the anime i think it would make a great anime but doubt it will anytime soon or at all.

I just wanna say a few words.... OPEN YOUR EYES! To those of you who think that these are just coincidences, let me ask you something. How is it that when there is probably more than 20 pictures that are basically the same as other great and famous works, JUST COINCIDENCES!?

Okay.... I should probably quit before people don't take me serious, but..... really? Those pics are real, not fake, so how is it that it's not plagiarizing? God, I am irritated at ignorant people..... okay, sorry for that, I'm gonna quit now.

Alright, now.... I wanna say that when I said panels, I meant the entire page, art and all, was the same except for minor changes. When I say minor, I mean only the characters are different. Just wanted to clear that with everyone.

Finally, I am completely sorry for my rant, but that just really irked me some of the comments. Yes some mangakas do get the same inspiration, but when there is that many similarities, it can't be blamed on inspiration. Just face it, the mangaka had stolen other peoples works, and never said that it was the original persons, also known as plagiarism.

And on the anime topic, if this was not plagiarized, I would have really enjoyed it. But sadly, after finding out about this, I had come to hating the manhwa, and having no respect for the mangaka.

It doesn't matter if they were taken or not they are still different enough to be considered inspired legally especially when its crossing boarders. I don't doubt they were not used as a base but like i said i see things like this in almost everything i read and watch. The times i don't see it i know its because i haven't seen what to compare it to yet. There are few to NO original works now days its not a bad thing they just have to make what they have work.

I am not saying that this is the only thing to be unoriginal, I mean, yeah everything is inspired by something. But, you still can not take other works by other people and call it your own. He could have said that it was inspired by all those mangas and the mangakas, but he never. All of the art that is basically the same is said to be his. He has not said otherwise. And I am not clear on all the laws and copyrights, so don't get angry at me, please. But, I didn't say that he was a criminal and breaking the laws, I was purely just saying all this as a fan of most of the works that were taken by him. I guess you could say this was out of anger. And I too know similarities when I see them, I see many things that remind me of something. Like a manga I once read was very similar to another manga. Then another manga was like both of them also (completely different series from Witch Hunter. It was shoujos), and I know that ideas are getting slim.

Well, this will be my last comment of the day, unless someone makes me irritated again. And please do not get angry at me for speaking my mind, and also please do not call me retarded again.

No. Near direct copies are not "inspired" they are examples of plagiarism.

I can look at the shown comparisons and know, KNOW, that presenting that kind of work in a class would get me in serious trouble with the Dean. Like, expulsion kind of trouble. Maybe even legal action.

I have seen instances of more obvious copies being let off that's what i meant that was with smaller local cases but it doesn't change the fact that they are original enough to pass in court unless a lot of time and effort was put in.

In the end the story is good and aside from the few easily cut pages show (with as i said earlier leave little problem) its good. Really it seems to me that your over reacting about stuff that in the end is really a moot point in the long run.

As this seems like this isnt going to end with anything other then the same thing being repeated i'm done unless something really new comes up

How can Witch Hunter, Bleach, and FMA be similar the characters barley look similar, setting aren't the same, and the plots don't even come close to matching. Just because a character's emotional response may be similar but that's not that much of the problem. What is the problem is the fans reading to much more into the situation then needs to be. But really the only ppl who have the right to call Witch Hunter and/or FMA plagiarized are the authors themselves and Bleach and FMA have been around for so long that at least one of the two authors would have called Witch Hunter's author out on it. We all saw when Tito Kubo called out when Kempachi was plagiarized in another work (http://www.animevice.com/news/comic-accused-of-bleach-plagi arism-publishers-tite-kubo-speak/3851/). That is plagiarism right there, and as far as I have seen or know Witch Hunter has not come that close what so ever. none

Oh and by the way Witch Hunter anime would be awesome kick ass eyes

Witch Hunter has come close. Look at all the examples in the link provided on the first page. Especially the Star Wars comparison.

This is really getting off topic...

Quote from TheShawn
Especially the Star Wars comparison.

I would say Stars Wars one is actually less convincing as the others(except the last example, I guess). I wonder why they didn't show the rest of the Lord of the Rings copy sword...
But I do agree that it's all too suspicious.

I come back and what do I find, someone saying that something more mild than this is more like plagiarism. Now, before you post another comment saying stuff like that, please, do look at the link that I had provided before in my review.

http://forum.onemanga.com/showthread.php?t=91178

Now, everyone please think before you speak. On that site, there were comparisons for all the suspected plagiarism, that, truth be told, didn't leave much room for doubt. As I have said before, there was nothing that said that any of that work was related to the original mangas (FMA, Bleach, D Grayman, etc.). I do believe that the name Cho Jung-man is the only name written, meaning that he is saying that all that is his, which is not true.

Another thing, the characters may look different, but that doesn't mean anything, poses and scenes are the same. THAT is the similarity. May be a different drawing style (a lot worse than the original, in my own opinion), but all in all, you can not deny that they have way too many similarities.

Can no one realize this, this is starting to get frustrating..... that sounded worse than what I really meant. I also am not trying to be rude to people, I'm just saying what I think, and I'm sorry if I offend anyone in the process.

BlackAriel98 you have been reading the posts right? Reading back i see no one really posting without mentioning your link after it was originally posted. i didn't really see anyone that didn't actually talk about it in at least one of there posts if not all yet you keep pointing it to us like we haven't. Unlike you said i realize there is something behind this i just don't think its as big of a deal as you do. At the same time a few of the examples i don't agree with but thats me.

It seems you are taking this personal that some people disagree with how urgent you see this as my advise don't that doesn't go well on the internet. (sorry if i am mistaken on how this seems to me.)

I second veg. Take it easy. Stuff like this happen all the time. And not just in manga. I know lots of people who work in comics and illustrations. We use each other's work as reference all the damn time. There is some copying be done, but compared to other situations this one is very very mild. Is it right for the author to do it, ehh, no. Does anyone care. No.

I like Octopuses.

The D.Gray-man examples were totally blatant, rather funny really. Hopefully continued exposure will make others muster up more creativity in the future. I can dream I suppose.
