im knid of looking for a manga similar to that of Daren and Devan from eclipse hunter (novel)except the relationship between the two main characters is romance between a boy and a girl. So pretty much i want the male/female lead to act as a "protector" to the other main protagonist either because they love him/her or for some other reason like being brainwahsed or they owe their lives to them. And I also want the main protagonist their protecting to have strong feelings for the ones who are protecting them. Kind of like how Devon loves his brother Daren so much even though Devon is his "master"
The romance or the feelings don't have to be there from the start but I would like it to be. If it deveopes a litte later but u can see it developing than thats fine. 
Sorry about the tittle its supposed to be "female/male protects other main lead"

I second Tokyo Crazy Paradise it's by the same mangaka as Skip Beat and absolutely AMAZING!
Oh and Her Majesty's Dog- but that's a male protecting a female...
Hana no Kishi is girl (dressed as guy) protecting girl love in the mask has the same plot but the story behind it is pretty interesting.
try those

Grand Sun has a female lead protecting the guy.
Yeah, a lot of bodyguard romances will take care of this, but I'll see if I can think of something more specific/one that I actually liked to recommend to you.
Ojousama's Orders was pretty cute, if a little short.
Arakure is a yakuza take on someone protecting someone else (but still romance).
Rensou no Aria is nice.
Shirotae no Kimi, Hanagasumi is also short and has pretty art.
LOL "or for some other reason like being brainwashed." I'm interested in that
