Shin Angyo Onshi may fit but if I remember correctly there's no large scale battle until the second half of the manga.

Again I keep getting large battles WITH power users, when I want large battles made up of almost ONLY power users and a lot of them.(think a world where everyone has power and two countries are at war, they aren't going to send one or two at a time but hundreds)
A good example is the latest chapters of Mahou Sensei Negima!.

Both One Piece and Naruto fits, in certain arcs.
Kekkaishi which you disregarded earlier definitely fits. It has over 300 chapters, so don't underestimate it. It also introduces so many characters (power users, of course) that once I caught up I barely remember what happened last time when a new chapter is released

although One Piece almost fits in certain arcs it generally does not fit.(because most of the fighters are basic pirates or marines with 5 or 6 special people on each side)
Naruto's current arc however fits really well because everyone who is fighting has a special power of some sort.
Kekkaishi doesn't really fit except at the very last arc but again it is few versus many, more of a battle than a war.
