I recently read from far away and wanted to read more stuff like it... so, a manga where the main character is transported to another world! Along those lines I also have been wanting to read mangas where the main character gets sent to another time within their own world- no other world. I really want to hear of mangas people have read and have liked smile
Any type of manga is fine as long as is not echii.
Thanks in advance! biggrin

some mangas I've already read:

basara, red river, shinobi life, Sarasah, Amakusa 1637, golden days.... and those are the ones i remember right now.

time travel:
psyren: really good, unfortunately it got axed sad
mirai no football: short, but it's great
Flame of Recca
Haruka na machi e: maybe the art seems a bit old, but story make up for that
the drifting classroom: my favorites! It's an old school horor

will look more from my list, I have more biggrin

Edit:
different dimension travel:
Fushigi yuugi: not my thing, but maybe you like it. Many people suggest fushigi yuugi: Genbu kaiden, 'cos the female lead not annoying and it has more decent plot than fushigi yuugi.
Or you can try Arata kangatari, it's by watase yuu too.

Mugen densetsu takamagahara/ dream saga
Magic Knight rayearth: I think clamp has many series that fits, like tsubasa or miyuki-chan in wonderland

Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn! has a time travel arc that annoyed me to my nerve's ends.

Ryou, time travel (somewhat alternate history)
Ouke no Monshou, time travel (prepare for crappy art and many many many volumes)

Also, there are categories for these.

To another world; Kyou Kara Maou!, Silver Diamond, Olimpos (this is surprisingly good), Are You Alice?

Time travel; Akatsuki no Fumi (just a one-shot, but very nice), Sprite, Zipang,
Thermae Romae (very...unique), Boku wa Beatles (if you like music)

thanks for all the recommendations! Some I have read: like reborn, inuyasha, dream saga and rayearth... but I will definitely give the others a try! oh, and the whole fushigi yuugi series is not my thing...haha. Also, I know there are tags, but I want to hear about manga people have already read.

Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles - lots of dimension travel, and some time travel
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
when they go to Clow's past (aka.Tokyo's future)
Just a warning though... the amount of time loops near the end will make your brain explode. xD

MAR - most of the story takes place in another dimension

Drifters - Character is sent to another worlds, and meets up with other famous people from history who are suppose to be dead. (All characters are from the past, present and future)
