Hi, I have been a manga fan for over 5 years and up till about 1 1/2 years ago I had been reading almost every popular (+ a lot of unpopular) manga available. (Eg: around about 300 series)
But when I started university I suddenly lost track of releases, etc and now am totally out of the loop with what's currently good. cry

Can someone please tell me what great new manga have popped up over the last 2 years?

P.S The last manga that I remember becoming really popular is Kimi Todoke. biggrin

Thank you! ^^
Noblesse - A full colour manga about vampires. Hmm, I'm skeptical, but I'll take a look because you recommend it so much. =)
Beelzebub - I've read some of it before and loved it.
Mirai nikki - Have never heard of this before, thanks!

Any other recommendations? There must be a lot more then 3 good quality manga appearing in the last 2 years.

Haha, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one. There's just so much to do when you get here and you gradually forget about it.
I really miss spending an evening of shutting myself in my room and getting immersed in a good story though, so I've decided to try and make room for it again. bigrazz

Don't worry! I found that uni has a lot more upsides than high school and you will hardly miss what you used to read (partly because you meet a lot of interesting people there that are a lot like the ones you get in manga so you'll be entertained). It all depends on how much course work you have to do too, of course. Good luck!

Legend of the Sun Knight - It has satire in it? Sounds good!
Tower of God - Hmm, not too sure about the artwork
[m]Fujimura-kun Meistu[/m] - gag manga gets old after a while but I'll look into it
Iris Zero - I like the whole bullying, fantasy, romance mix
Koharu no hibi - Sounds a bit weird (stalker), but I'll try it out
Magician (KIM Sarae) - there are so many webcomics around these days!
Kiss Wood - I love plants! This sounds great!
Amanoiwato Hime - Again, not keen on the artwork

Thanks! biggrin

This is like a popularity ranking for the past year so it could help you find some new stuff..

Don't know what will suit your taste, but I suggest Love so life, Natsume Yuujinchou, Oresama Teacher (shoujo) & The Breaker: New waves, Ao no exorcist (shounen).
I'm not too sure when those series began, so maybe you already know of them, but there sure are a lot of people following them now, so I guess it's appropriate.

Pandora Hearts and Kuroshitsuji have been quite popular nowadays.
As for shounen, it would be Kagami no Kuni no Harisugawa. It's really recent so not many chapters are out yet. Have you read Code: Breaker? I'm not quite sure how recent that one is. I just keep reading manga, I lost track which one started when lol.
For shoujo, [m]Aoharu Ride[/m], from the creator of Strobe Edge has quite the potential.
I second Iris Zero, it's not too bad for shounen.
I haven't read these series, but it seems like they are quite rising in popularity: Shingeki no Kyojin and Nozoki Ana. The latter is ecchi, though, so stay away if you're not up to that.

Edit: I almost forgot, Reimei no Arcana is quite gaining popularity as well. It's a fantasy shoujo.

Agreed. I add those two to my suggestions as well.

Oh wow you guys! Thanks so much for all the responses! I am really keen to go and read some manga now. =)
I have already read Pandora Hearts, and Oresama teacher is one of my long time favorites (I followed it from day 1).

Kuroshitsuji - It's a short shounen, that's rare. =) I like the whole best friend detectives thing so I'll check it out.
Code Breaker - I've heard of before but I've never quite gotten round to reading it
[m]Shingeki ni Kyojin[/m] - Looks a bit terrifying but it did win an award so I'll see if I can handle it.
Nozoki Ana - I'm not sure how I feel about ecchi, but preferable not. I think Love Hina is the only ecchi I've ever truly liked
Reimei no Arcana - Some mangas based on royalty can be downright boring, but this seems to add a new twist, so I'll look into it
Love so Life - Is something I would have read when I was a lot younger, but thank you. =)
Ao no exorcist - Not too keen on the artwork
Natsume Yuujinchou - seems very sad, but I hope it's as good as the reviews say it is because it seems like it'll be boring otherwise
[m]Kagami no Kuni no Harisugaw[/m] - sounds interesting
@0sirt - Thanks! I forgot all about that function of this website

Thank you so much for your recommendations! If you have any more feel free to post them! biggrin

I don't know what your tastes are, High School of the Dead apparently newly released and good, Aion I think its by the same mangaka as Chibi Vampire and also Sakura Hime: The Legend of Princess Sakura.

Fu, fu, fu ! That's so true when I think about it... I still follow a few series that are directed to a public much (much ! ) younger than I am... I feel a bit ashamed now... User Posted Image

To redeem myself, here is (I hope ! ) a better suggestion : Adekan.
