LGBT character in non LGBT themed anime

I'm hoping to find an anime that has an openly gay character as part of the main cast but it isn't the driving theme of the show. Sort of like Willow in Buffy. She was gay but her being gay was not the focal point of the show, Buffy slaying vampires was. There are tons of anime where a characters sexuality is implied but never stated (I'm looking at you CLAMP) and a ton more that focus on the characters - generally newly discovered - sexuality (Gravitation for example) but that's not what I want. I would like to find an anime or manga for that matter, where one character happens to be gay and that's that, no commentary, no exploration. It just seems like, unless the show is focused specifically on LGBT characters then we don't see any at all. Or we get trope tastic comic relief versions.

They're not always "openly gay", but they're there, somewhere in the corner of the page. As for your topic, the only one I can think of right now is the afro guy from Nodame Cantabile.
