We don't need to sneak food in cause it's basically allowed to bring food.

Quote from AliceinAmestris 2 large boxes of pizza (At the same time I'm rather thin so I have no idea how they didn't catch on....) Haha, my youth group pastor would sneak in boxes of pizza too when he was a teenager. He said, "All I needed was a sweatshirt, man, and I could take in whatever I wanted." He probably didn't take two boxes at once, though. But really, pizza has a strong smell... it's hard to believe they really don't notice that you happen to smell a significant deal more delicious than their other customers. Maybe the employees just don't care?
Edit: Now that I think about it, I think he also said he sneaked in a whole cake once... but I don't remember that part very well because I was too busy wondering why they didn't smell the pizza, so I might be mistaken.

It must be nice if it happened in my country. Theaters in my country prohibits audiences to bring food that bought outside theater cafetaria (and the food there cost maybe 2-3 times higher). Some theaters even go as far as having security guards to check the belongings and confiscate the food.
Anyway, I always sneak in food. I just choose less strict theater and located in the mall. I only buy in cafetaria if there's someone who pay, or else I choose the cheapest one (water). Usually I sneak in small food, such as chocolate bars, pie, bread, juice, biscuits.

yes, there is a small little shop to buy food and drinks and you are supposed to take only what you buy there into the theater. Since that shop is stupidly expensive and doesn't even had the chocolate I want I always bring my own food. I also recall someone telling me about a group of guys who had a huge bottle of coke which they wanted to take into the theater. One of the boys in the group only had one leg and was using crutches to get around. He and another boy swapped pants so that the boy with one leg was wearing pants (he had been wearing shorts before) and then shoved the bottle of coke into the leg of the pants on the side that he only had one leg on then tied it so that it wouldn't fall out. As they were going into the theater the guard was staring at his leg which was naturally swinging very strangely, but couldn't say something like "what is wrong with your leg" so they got in. one of the more alternative ways to get food and drink into the theater.

Yep. I've brought slushie, tacos, sodas, burgers, small pizzas, all those stuff. But the most embarrassing thing I've brought to the theaters was this chinese food that smelled throughout the theaters. My friends and I laughed so hard that time.

the constant intake of food in the western world is scary
we cant even go 1h30m-2h without eating and to top it all off its 1h30m-2h when we are supposed to be entertained by the moving pictures on the big screen
no wonder we are fat
when i was younger i sometimes smuggled candy into the theater...the stuff you can buy at the movies are just so damn expensive its not even funny
i have never ever seen anyone bring actual food into a theater i dont think that is something you do in my country lol

I don't think it's technically illegal, like I don't think you could be arrested for it, but it's more that they want to make money by selling you ridiculously expensive food. So they make it a rule of the establishment that you can't bring in your own food and drinks so you have to buy from them. The worst they could probably do if you break that rule is to chuck you out the theatre.
Anyway, to answer the actual question: I have snuck in small candy before, sherbert lemons for example, and a bottle of coke once or twice. But I normally eat before I go to the cinema so I won't be hungry.

Bringing food in is not illegal, coming out of nowhere and prohibiting you from doing it is.
The difference between your country and other countries is that your country's people are aware of their rights.
and
No, I only drink coke when I go to the movie theater, so there is no need to bring anything else.

Is bring in water bottle illegal in Canada cinema? I usually bring my own. I only buy light snack like popcorn that sold there 'cos i don't feel hungry during the show ----> I'm fine without food for haft of the day at school and that's happened on 3 or 4 days a week
