I've been spying the summary for Gantz for a while, and it seems pretty sick. However, I'm not sure I'd pick it up if it's going to be ongoing for the next few years.
Does anyone have any idea if Gantz is finishing anytime soon? Thanks!

I started reading it anyways. Couldn't resist. XD I'm finished 348 now.
It does seem like it's nearing completion, but still a couple of years away. I'd say it's an arc and a half away from the end. Each chapter is just SO short.

But it is still good and interesting, so I don't mind if they drag it on. On the other hand, Bleach lost its charm, and it still drags on. Now, that's a problem.

better gantz rather than bleach sucks always repeating the same pattern boss battle --->lost power---->new enemy ----> get new power ----->kill boss enemy ----etc

I think its actually well on its way to ending, the overall storyline has finally been revealed. Everything is climaxing to heck and back. The love interests and main heros have all been solidified. And the once insecure and useless kid has turned into a specimen of total bamf... not to mention the biggest baddest mofo in the enemy has locked his sites on the main char.. I see this series ending by chapter 450 or sooner, unless they do the stupid common enemy arc or something like that which would horrify me because I am utterly amazed with how awesome this story is after it came together. Author is brilliant, and I'm REALLY hoping on an at least reasonably happy ending here.

Best Case Scenario: Spoiler (mouse over to view) Everything end by chapter 500, nice ending, with humanity getting back up its feet from the invasion. Kisses and hugs. Maybe some important side characters will die.
Worst Case Scenario : Spoiler (mouse over to view) Aliens take over Earth. Humanity faces extinction/subjugation, the manga ends there like that.

Damnation! I have a feeling Hiroya isnt a ''Good times/happy days''' type of guy, I feel (sadly) it most likely will be the 2nd scenario, whish I would hate when I'm so depressed right now, at volume 28, but I'll keep on reading cause...I dont know...I have to, ya' know?
I can imagine, the last scene being an alien on a desolated earth and smiling pleasantly at us. And all the gants members, even Kurono dead. Now THAT would haunt me.
But im obsessed, so what can you do?

I have a secret love for well-placed tragic endings, and Gantz would fit one perfectly. I'm definitely Team Everyone-Is-Dead.
Actually, if they made one of the kind-hearted characters live on (not Kurono. That guy's really creeepy as much as he is a good guy), like Kato, that would be perfectly tragic. Everyone's dead but one person, and they are completely heartbroken. Yessssss.
Oh well. In a few more years I'll figure it out. *sits down and waits patiently*
