Note: This is a modified version of the previous thread that was posted here in mangaupdates. I'm reposting this because the OP of that thread, Zyki, cannot be contacted. We want to edit and update relevant information, and so we decided to open a new thread instead. If possible, please delete the previous thread. Thank you.

Extras is addressing all individuals wishing to either join a scanlation group or form a new scanlation group. We are recruiting anyone and everyone!

Basic Outline of Extras' Operation
Extras is a small group of experienced scanlators working on series we personally find interesting. However, we don’t operate like any other typical group. We operate as both a modular scanlation group and freelancing individuals for other groups.

Statement
As we define ourselves as both a modular scanlation group and freelancing individuals. We welcome any individuals to join us or request help from our members to assist you with your projects. However, the only condition for requesting help is that one of our members is interested in your project. However, we will attempt to support you in areas we are capable of providing help in. If there are any problems with shortage of staff, we will also provide help by recruiting other individuals or freelancers to ensure that your project will be released.

Furthermore, we allow anyone to release their projects under Extras by providing you privileges to use our website and reader for free.

Modular Scanlation Group
Extras is not your typical scanlation group. We not only provide support in recruiting or supplying individuals to help with your project. We also have a different outlook on our group structure. This model allows any potential users who is interested in either starting up a project, creating a new group, or joining us to work with an established group.

Extras Administrators: These are the top executive members that will help you setup your “sub-group” within Extras and deals with any administrative duties to ensure that your “sub-group” is running smoothly.

Sub-Group Leaders: These are the leaders of each sub-group that reside under Extras. They will have full responsibility of their own project and group of members. In a typical scanlation group, these leaders would be the group administrators. However, each project will be considered a sub-group and a leader will be assigned to it. This will ensure that all projects are ongoing unless something occurs.

Members: These users are split among our sub-groups to work on projects they are personally interested in or lacking staff.

Why join us?
We plan to stay here in for the long run. Our members may retire, projects may be dropped, and other circumstances may arise, but we don’t plan to disappear anytime soon like other new groups formed. Many of our members are already experienced scanlators and work for various other big groups, such as Red-Hawk, Maigo, Simple, iMangaScans, and many others. With our experienced scanlators, we can help train you to scanlate series so you can use your abilities to help us and other groups out on projects you love to read.

Because Extras is a modular group, we allow anyone to form their own “sub-group” under our name to release their own projects. This avoids the need for new groups to form a reputation or gaining exposure with your general readers and setting up their own group. Extras is already an established group with our readers and provide scanlations of series that are fairly popular with our visitors. If you wish to form a sub-group under our name, we can provide you with staff privileges to use our website and reader to host your projects and releases for free.

We fit the bill for you, if you:
[*] don’t want to under-go the hassle of creating a new group, website, forum, etc.
[*] don’t have the resources to start scanlating on your projects
[*] love manga/manwha/manhua
[*] need assistance with one of your projects
[*] wish to gain exposure for your project with more readers
[*] wish to have your projects released by an established group
[*] wish to join Extras

Do you wish to release under us or request for our help?
The main genres we only work on but isn’t restricted to are: Action, Adventure, Adult, Comedy, Drama, Ecchi, Harem, Horror, Martial Arts, Mecha, Mystery,Romance, School Life, Seinen, Shounen, Slice of Life, and Supernatural.

We strictly do not work on: Yaoi. We apologize in advance if you’re interested in this genre.

Requirements for Shoujo: The shoujo genre is fairly repetitive, similar to one another, or are eye-cancer with pretty drawings. These are your typical shoujo that many of our members find boring and uninteresting. However, there are very few good shoujo series that completely defies these conventions. If you do come across any of these and wish to have them released by or request help from us, then by all means contact us at Extras.

Recruitment
We will never stop searching for new members to fill positions. Every position is available. However, there will be times where there will be not work for you. If this is fine with you, feel free to join us!

Positions: J->E Translators, K->E Translators, C->E Translators, Cleaners, Typesetters, Redrawers, Proofreaders, Quality Checkers

* Translators: You are not required to translate anything besides the projects you are interested in working on. This means that you don’t necessary have to join us or anything and simply just provide translations for a project wish you wish to work on.
