I kinda half expected it, but that twist still caught me! Me and a friend thought it was Madra's body, but we figured that his soul was the one wearing the mask. Now I have no idea what to think!

Obito had only one eye but when Madara 2 was fighting against Konan he showed that he had two eyes chapter 510 page 8

It got something to do with the Eternal Mangekyou. If Madara has been dead for god knows how many years, how did he know about Nagato?
If there is a jutsu for creating a double, stealing hearts, living chakra swords, becoming a giant, sealing huge ass monster. Then I bet you can split your soul or something.
If not that this quote came to mind "The eyes are the windows to the Soul".
Maybe Madaras brother?

At this point, I am going to bet on your answer. It is either still Madara, and he just split (good/evil kind of thing.. Piccolo did it in DB.. so why not?) or it is his brother, and HE is the one that stole Madara's eyes after he fought the First, adding insult to injury.
I still stand by the fact that it is NOT Obito, the same as it was obvious that the Fourth was Naruto's father, and everyone said No, and so forth. The obvious is obvious, and Obito is dead.

It can't be Obito but it might be since the mask guy only show one part of his eye. But the mask guy appeared before the nine tails incident so it can't be him.

I remember Madara saying that he was a shell of his former self. Maybe his soul somehow took over someone else's body upon the death of his physical body using ANOTHER forbidden sharingan technique we won't ever hear about until Madara explains it. smh

That was an amazing chapter, kishimoto has me hooked again. But the question remains, who is behind that mask? Obito?, a piece of madara's souls?, fugaku uchiha?, naruto's long lost twin brother who happens to have sharingan? Orochimaru?, one can only guess. I really hope that mystery is solved next week but i doubt it, now we will get to see madara pwn everyone for a while.

hey it may be sasuke's dad or a leader of the uchiha that sasuke's bro did not kill or did but was not dead because of a jutsu and was recovering during the years that's why it took him so long to act, it would also explain why that guy knows everything,
also it could be just madara's son or something like that (not living up to his father making him like a shell of his father) hell bent on revenge and domination to succeed where his father failed (so he is not a shell)
