I am looking for a manga that is fairly long with at least 5 volumes(the longer the better.)
**Please nothing that has been adapted to anime**
Things the manga must have:
(1.) The main character must be male
(2.) It must have some romance in it, without having the entire story being about a pathetic indecisive male lead .
(3.) It must be finished(please nothing that was discontinued)
(4.) It needs to be mostly if not completely scanlated in english. Unless the the Raws contain furigana. Because i only know about 60 basic kanji characters.
Things that would be nice if they were in the manga, but could live without:
(1.) It would be nice if it had some kind of action it (To me sports, competitions, fighting, games and battles of wits count as action)
(2.) It would be nice if the main character was an underdog or the situation the main character is in is very bad or if he had some sort of tragic past.
Here are some manga i have already read:
Akumetsu
Angel Densetsu
Alive
Ares
Beast Master
Bloody Monday
Change 123
Cross Over
Full contact
From Far Away
Hoshi no Samidare
Mx0
Psyren
666 Satan
Superior
Someday's Dreamers - Spellbound
The Breaker
Togari
veritas
**tsubassa cronicles (sorry i forgot to mention it)
xxxHoLic
Gantz (read up to chapter 300 something. I enjoyed the first half but really disliked the second half of the series so i stopped reading)
kekkaishi
Thank you mogiks for answering my other question

I am also looking for advice on what kanji characters i should learn learn so i can read manga without furigana. because the most of the characters i know are not used very often.
i only know: 円 木 人 本 日 時 月 火 水 金 土 曜 上 下 中 半 元 気 今 田 男 女 口 出 右 左 大 生 分 外 行 先 学 北 東 南 西 京 子 小 and all the numbers up to about a million

Quite a lot of those kanji are used pretty often, I'd say... there is a reason why people usually start off learning basic kanji like that.
If you want to read without furigana you're gonna want to know the jouyou kanji (wikipedia) which are the 2,136 kanji taught in Japanese schools. I guess you'd wanna start with the kyouiku kanji. I'm sure there are tons of kanji learning books out there that cover all those.

BossKado thank you for the suggestions i had already read them and they are actually some of my all time favorites.
mogiks Thank you for the information it was very useful.
Koryushi I have already ready watched the anime version of Bokurano, so i wont be reading the manga version. Darren Shan seemed very interesting but it was only translated up to chapter 5 and i was unable to find the raws anywhere , but ill keep looking to see if i can find it somewhere.

Eureka Seven not really a happy ending, watch the anime if you want one.
Tsukihime. this is really good..
Kurohime and YuYu Hakusho
not sure if you'll like this one, doesn't really focus on 3
Midori no hibi

Sorry again BossKado i already watched Eureka Seven, Midori no hibi, YuYu Hakusho the anime and Tsukihime(I Read the manga and watched the anime.)
Kurohime: i read up to about 10 chapters after zero died and stopped reading it...
I probably should have mentioned that i have already seen a lot of anime... so its better to suggest something that hasn't been adapted to anime.

Beck not really any action though
The Breaker and Shin Angyo Onshi are both really good
Cross Game and other ADACHI Mitsuru manga might be what you are looking for
Rurouni Kenshin a classic
Full Contact might work too

cronto:
Sorry but i have already watched: Beck, Rourouni Kenshin and Cross Game as well as every anime that was created by ADACHI Mitsuru including his older works such as Miyuki, Touch and Hiatari Ryoukou!.
I was originally planning on reading Shin Angyo Onshi after watching the OVA but after reading all the comments about it everyone seemed to agree that there is almost no romance in it, so i didnt read it.
I forgot to mention that i had already read Full Contact(enjoyed it a lot, but felt it was a bit short.)
sarah-eats-cupcakes: Sorry I am currently watching the anime version of mirai nikki

I have drastically edited what i am looking for please re-reed and suggest something.
Vampire Juujikai should fit everything you asked for (imho there is romance even if there is no tag).
And even if you said no adapted to anime I'm still gonna suggest you Elfen Lied. You can pick up from where the anime (which sucks compared to manga imho) ends but I'd read it all.
Lastly: just my two cents but I'd not missed on such good manga like Shin Angyo Onshi just 'cause there is no romance (there is still a romance story in flashbacks fyi). But you do what you want to do.

Uhm... Kurohime has a female lead. But I suggest it, too.
Somewhat narrow range of choices, but Ga-Rei fits. Sadly not otaku enough to mention any others that haven't already been (I second Shin Angyo Onshi and Vampire Juujikai).
