It doesn't exactly fit your criteria, but you should take a look at Enchanter. While it is about humans and demons, the demons are not really portrayed as personifications of evil... they come across more like aliens from a different dimension to me. There are notable differences in culture and nature that lead to some interesting relationship dynamics that I think you'd enjoy.

Well I can't remember any serious manga depicting a romance with something at least not humanoid. Though I'm pretty sure there might be examples in the comedy genre.
You could always check Kiseijuu, the aliens there control human bodies but appear very monstruous/grotesque and iirc it shows a lot of aliens' interactions with humans (like one trying to be a mother for a baby), not sure if there's romance tho.
If you don't mind novels, you could try some of the S-F literature by C. J. Cherryh. Her works have a strong anthropological flavor, and focus on human interactions with others (aliens or fantasy creatures). The Foreigner series might be a good starting point for the kind of romance you're looking for, you could also try Chanur (the romance bit is only alluded to here tho). If you like her style I strongly suggest her Faded Sun Trilogy (my favorite), no romance there but still great.

Not bad, thank you for the suggestion. It's not really what I'm looking for, but enjoyable nontheless (if only they could tone down the ecchiness a bit).
