How is the Toriko anime? I really like the manga and want my friend to be interested in it as well. However, it's really hard to get my friend to read any manga unless he's caught up to the anime and curiosity gets the better of him . It happened to both One Piece and Naruto for him. Anyway, is the anime pretty good and true to the manga? Thanks, any help is greatly appreciated.

Kind of late but...
The anime is okay-ish at first but only after several episodes it gets really good! It's generally very true to the source material, but there are some added scenes (very few) which are not part of the manga or some of the chapters were rearranged in the anime (meaning that for example you have chapter 56 and 57 and in the anime they animated 57 first and then 56, but this doesn't really matter). You also get to see this filler and annoying character Tina and her fat pigeon most of the time, but it's not that bad actually. The anime is colourful and i think the manga is meant to be more dark and savage. The violence is toned down/missing but other than that it's REALLY GOOD! In fact it's one of the few ongoing animes that i follow. I think i got hooked during the Puffer Whale Arc (Episodes 4, 5 and 6). The music and VAs are really good as well!
I would give it 8 or 9 out of 10 if i had to rate (as of episode 59, i hope it will get even better later on),
