the only two characters i liked right away was
Kuno
and
Akane
they looked most like their part

and another thing
who the hell is vice principal okamada
why bring in new characters just to make a story when there is so much to work with from the source

the maison ikkoku live action specials[and even the old80s movie] worked...i mean there are no humans turning into animals
no super powers...just a LOOoOoOng love story

turning ranma into live action just seems wrong[i have not seen the french movie...that might be a masterpiece]

I think Ranma 1/2 is one of those stories that looks wonderful in manga-form, but in real life, it would be a fail. That style of comedy would look awkward in real life, all the effects, a bit cheesy looking, and it just seems all together wrong to put it in live action form. I think the anime and manga are nice as they are.

IT LOOKS HORRIBLE!!! AARGH!!!

I think it COULD have been decent... but the from what I see in the trailer, it looks like some travesty put together by a group of high schoolers!

It completely loses the "flavour" from the original manga and anime.
The characterizations seems terrible, untrue to original AND bad even as standalone if you never heard of ranma before.
The fight choreography and filming SUCKS, Akane's fight scene in the trailer looks like something made by a high school club or something.
Urgh. Over dramatisation. Why does Ranma pose for 10 seconds after dumping cold water on genma?
Pointless "cheesy" scenes, why in the world make Ranma try to block a hydrant with his water bottle and fail miserably, just adds cheesiness and isn't funny or contributes to story or whatever, it's just cheesy for sake of being cheesy.
If you're going to make a guy who turns into a girl... DON'T use actors who looks androgynous for both roles!!! Yeah, I know that Japanese schoolgirls are currently into the bishonen girly boy sort of look, but it FREAKING DOESN"T WORK HERE. There are parts where Ranma changes from girl to boy boy to girl and I can only tell if I pay CLOSE attention and also based on hair color. Honestly, boy ranma looks girly and girl ranma looks boyish. It's sad. Also, maybe they could have gotten a bustier girl to play girl ranma? *OR* they could have left out the jokes about Ranma being bustier than Akane. Or something. But it's a bit sad when girl Ranma is waving at her chest and trying to heft her breasts or something AND THERE'S NOTHING THERE. That's just pathetic.

I hope Takahashi Rumiko Sued everyone involved in this live action special

it felt like i was watching some fanmade sentai movie from the 80s
horrible acting and...and just BADNESS everything was bad

every character felt like a useless weak version of themselves
and the story was
just so bad
the new okama villian was not funny

is it still the funniest thing in japan to make fun of homosexuals ? i just dont think it is that funny
