I can't remember the title of a manga/wha so I need your help. One male character is called Corvo. It's possible he is only the friend of the main character and not the main.It's a fantasy shounen.

I am not too sure about it :
- it could be a manga of early 2000, late nineties.
- there is a battle scene where a friendly backup(invocation?dragon?monster?) suddenly shows up. Then a character is making the introductions for the late comer like this : "friends", "foes", "background". Yes she/he is calling a group of persons "background".
- it may involve an eye related power.
