I rather enjoyed that chapter, if you forgot about Tobi's weakness it made for a pretty dramatic scene. Just a second later and we could have put an end to Naruto.

It could have went either way. Somehow I feel Naruto would have escaped even if Tobi got him. But I liked this chapter. I enjoyed it. But I wonder what plan thy are going to come up with. They now have Guy, who has the 8 inner gates. And Kakashi is well, Kakashi. But while I love to think they have a far better chance of winning this, they'd have to come with some damn good kill 2 birds with on stone type plan.

I got exited for a sec, I thought Naruto was going to be caught/die. Not that I want him to be caught and die and all, it just makes for an interesting plot. I definitely enjoyed this chappie.

What weakness? That he could solidify? It is more like a drawback to his ability and he did not even get hit like with the Yondaime.

Nah, Naruto was nailed. He said himself that he could not move. About those two, Kakashi was defeated although he had reinforcements against a single Path of Pain, while Guy had to release 7 gates to to beat Kisame (the 8th gate kills him). Besides, they look pretty worn out already, not to mention that Madara has defeated the Hachibi.

It reminded me of what someone had said about him thinking that Naruto was going to be kidnapped by Nagato before and have Konoha go rescue the kid. The other squads seem to be coming soon, although it is kind of weird that conveniently only Kakashi and Guy showed up.

It turned out that they were not sealed. You like bushy eyebrows?

Jiraiya and Orochimaru almost got killed because of Four-Tailed Naruto; it would be ridiculous if Kakashi and Guy beat up to Seven-Tails. Then again, the Hachibi got his ass kicked by a measly Five-Tails, so there is some discrepancy here; you would think he would be stronger than his lower-tailed brothers, but maybe their being combined was a factor. I wonder what that Flower Fruit Mountain (or whatever it was) actually did, and who was behind it (the chapter was unclear). It was interesting to see the Hachibi recognizing the bijuu's chakra yet being unfamiliar with their abilities (e.g., Rokubi's alkaline acid; I was curious to see the difference between that 'leech' and Tsunade's Katsuyu, since they seemed similar, and if I remember correctly, the latter could also spout some sort of acid; hmmm . . .).

laugh I would have loved to have seen the anime writers' faces when they realized that the Utakata (Rokubi's jinchuuriki) filler is going to bite them back hard in the ass now that he is facing Naruto, who has no idea who he is. eek

I think he means that masked Madara has to solidify to touch Naruto. Once he solidifies he has to dodge, ergo, you can say it's a weakness.

Kakashi had to figure a lot of things up in the first fight, and remember there were two paths. Gai bested Kisame, a monster, when Kisame was in the water trough raw power; this is the first fight where masked Madara use rinnegan or the bijus, but Kakashi/Naruto, Kakashi/Gai, Naruto/Bee have trained and fought together in the past; Kakashi has no stamina, but Gai, Bee and Naruto -not being the smartest, do really need his brains in this fight.

I don't think you can say wich shinobi would win a fight when the are at the peaks of their techniches. What I mean is that they all control more than one element, summonings, etc. How their abilities interact and who would prevail is not a simple matter anymore. Sasuke/Naruto vs Zabuza, Naruto vs Kabuto, Konohamaru vs Pain, etc. should bother you more than this.

It was less dramatic for me, not only because Guy's kick went right through him, but since I remembered that Madara takes a while to . . . Do whatever the hell it is he does when he touches someone, thanks to his fight with Konan.

Well, if you want to use the lack of knowledge as an excuse, then I would bet that Kisame would have won had he known that Guy's Noon Tiger was actually a taijutsu (although it was obvious to me). Besides, Kisame didn't have his sword for some reason and was already weakened (possibly by Naruto). Also, Guy became severely worn out after the battle. I predict that he will finally open the eighth gate and die soon against Madara.

As for Kakashi, if I recall correctly, Jiraiya sacrificed his life to get information about Pain to Konoha, where it was analyzed thoroughly, so saying that Kakashi didn't know anything about his enemy is a little hard to swallow.

Everyone in Konoha should know how the Rinnegan work by now, and, according to the anime, Naruto has already encountered the Rokubi before (or its jinchuuriki, if you want to be specific), and both he and Kakashi have fought against the Sanbi. Aside from that, Killer Bee seems very familiar with the Nibi's jinchuuriki, Nii Yugito. Also, by the time the duo has arrived, Naruto and Bee have already figured out all of the jinchuuriki/bijuu's abilities, something both Kakashi and Guy are both oblivious of.

I agree that Naruto and Bee are overrated, but, like Itachi said, you shouldn't underestimate Guy. Remember that he was the one to tell Asuma and Kurenai to look at Itachi's feet when fighting him, although Kakashi was there before Guy.

Unfortunate, but true. Just to note, most non-jounin can only use one element.

Quote from khaledias
Sasuke/Naruto vs Zabuza,

They were actually quite screwed. What bothers me is that Kakashi defeated Zabuza, when the latter had the former with the Water Prison Jutsu.

Quote from khaledias

Naruto and Konohamaru just used a new jutsu that they had learned (the same one) which did not really affect the entire battle flow directly (i.e., their enemies got up eventually). So, whatever, they only had their 'haha' moment for a second.

All right, place your bets people. laugh Who do you think will get killed first:
  • Guy or
  • Bee?

I'm saying if Tobi fights transparently then being solid is his weakness. His physicality is weak, if he was absorbed in absorbing Naruto, believing like a reader that they're the only ones in that neck of the woods, the war could have been over with Naruto's capture or the surprise attack in which Tobi would be dead right now, Guy is no joke. It was dramatic b/c Naruto was a sitting duck and made for a rather good play on Tobi's drawback to use his eye which is putting is weak body on the table for a taijutsu user who fought Kisame "The Unofficial Bijuu" multiple times and Kakashi was going pull Naruto out of the way and the war would unofficially be over either way.

Oh, please, Guy's kick wouldn't have even phased Madara. Not only was Guy apparently not in the Gates mode (his pupils were visible), but Madara took a Rasengan in the past without much effect. Hell, he even blocked Zabuza's Decapitating Sword with just his hand. The man is of a million tricks. The 'reader' would also bear in mind that Madara is the ultimate villain in the series, and we would at least see Naruto take his mask off before he dies. Also, Shikaku had already been shown ordering most of the squads to back up Naruto and Bee as soon as they were finished with their battles, which obviously was not going to take long. Plus, Bee's status after the Hachibi fell was unclear. Assuming that one would forget that Naruto is the main character of, well, Naruto, it was mentioned multiple times in the series that Akatsuki want the jinchuuriki alive to extract the bijuu, which takes over three days, more than enough time for the jinchuuriki to be uncovered now that the Five Great Villages are allied.

Moreover, Guy has not really fought Kisame 'multiple times.' In the first, they barely touched one another; in the second, it was just a copy of Kisame that had a measly 30% of his chakra which didn't even unrap the Samehada; and in the third, like I said before, Kisame was already weakened as well as lacking his sword, and had the fight lasted a little longer, the tables would have turned.

Don't forget that he also returned one of the paths' bodies', which contained more information about Pain. Furthermore, it was thanks to Jiraiya that Konoha became aware of three of the paths' abilities, implying that each one of the six was capable of one thing (i.e., summoning, absorbing ninjutsu, etc.). Plus, knowing that one the Legendary Sannin was defeated made the village stay on guard, ultimately causing Naruto to train to master the Sennin Mode, resulting in the victory over of Pain.
