Some of my favorites are the omniscient ones, like Nakatsu's psychic roommate Kayashima, and the strong girls, like Tsukasa (KuruPara) and Nana in Othello. What do you like?

for girls either Tsundere characters (e.g. Suzuka, Revy) or Silent type (e.g. Yakumo, Rei)

With "favorite type of characters", do you mean only characters from Shoujo and Josei? Because Blakraven has also put characters up from Shounens.
So,...
A) If you meant characters only from that genre, specify it explicitly then in the OP.
Or...
B) This should move in its proper forum, "Manga General".
I'm not attacking, just confused.

Well, I was thinking in terms of shoujo, actually. Or romance generally. But yeah, you're probably right. I think I recognized two of blakraven's names. One for sure.

Then I would suggest that you edit your opening and put there in that it's only about Shoujo/Josei characters, just not to make other people confused or something. 
And to be a little on-topic; I like the type of female character who isn't a wussy and/or dense...

oh~ romance title characters...well, even though the characters were from shounen titles they were just examples, there are characters like that in romance too...

lol...tsundere are those hate turn to love characters that comes from tsuntsun and deredere
yandere are the quiet type characters that go psycho...kinda like Kotonoha from School Days or Kaede from shuffle
yangire characters are the bright, happy characters that go psycho...like Gasai Yuno from Mirai Nikki or Sekai from School Days
