Do you think you could add some kind of filter, indication or something so I don't click on a link without realizing that it is in one of these genres? I don't have a problem if people want to look at that kind of thing but personally I wouldn't like to.

You could always just check what genre it is before you download it.

I didn't download it. I clicked on the link and saw the cover. I can't check the genre without clicking on it, if the genre was listed on the releases page that would solve things.

You can pretty much tell which ones are Yaoi or Shounen-Ai if you remember which groups do what stuff. For example, the group Obsession tends to do Yaoi and Shounen-Ai stuff. All it takes is to remember these things.

Please don't tell me you're too lazy to do that, lol. biggrin

Actually I support the genre filter idea in general. Obsession is a major Yaoi group so it's easy to notice, but the lesser ones can get annoying.

I mean, if we had only 5-10% of yaoi releases, it'd be fine, but when the genre takes half of the daily releases, I'd rather not see them.

Same thing could be argued by someone who doesn't like Shonen or Shoujo... smile

Hmm...that's a good suggestion...I bet a lot of people would love that

There's just one problem...you guys have to make sure that the genres are correct for the series...

Hmm... I'm not saying I'm against it, but wouldn't that mean that you'd have to register to see the yaoi releases?

And isn't that a bit unfair torwards yaoi/shounen-ai fans or even torwards the scanlation groups who translate these kind of manga (because everyone could see other group releases and only a few select people could see theirs)? I mean, if we're talking about filters, you'd have to have filters for every genre in order for it to be fair. After all everyone has different tastes. Some might not want to see the hentai, ecchi or even shounen releases. Sorry if I seem rude, but that's how I see it. none

Still, if it bothers people, I think maybe it's a good idea to put the genres in the releases page so that people wouldn't click the links (if that's possibly, which I've no idea if it is)? none

Well generalize the idea into a customizable genre(s) filter, so "Yaoi discrimination" won't happen biggrin

sorry... descrimination wasn't the word I was looking for (that's a bit strong, right?). bigrazz Yes, a customizable filter was what I had in mind when I said that we should have filters for every genre. I for example don't follow shounen manga much, I'm more of a shoujo person. And so on... biggrin Still, isn't that... complicated to do or something? none

yeah, this is something i'm thinking about really long...
ok, i now near to got the hang of which titles will be 'yaoi/shounen ai' and which ones not... most times by the groups... but i still often ran into that - from my side - hated genre...

i fully support a customizeable 'genre-filter', kinda like the one at tokyotoshokan

I'm with lambchopsil. A few series here and there are probably not in their respective genres.

I've grown accustomed to avoiding releases by certain groups.

Mainly, it's a good idea, I think
But filters...
I think you should just put the information about Yaoi or Shoujo or Ecchi in the Release like slayra said
(but I think that will be a lot of trouble for Manick, to change the 'Release Add' System. Maybe you can add three Choices like in the 'Serie Add' System for the Genre. Did you understand me confused )

And finally, I don't think that there is often a mistake with the genre. smile

I think that being able to add filters for registered users is a good idea. Have one for every genre so you can pick, with the default (and so what unregistered users have) is everything showing up.

There are quite a few yaoi scanlation groups out there. It's easy enough to avoid Obsession or Nakama or NoDeadline but trying to remember all groups would be difficult.

Honestly, I still don't see the big deal in just clicking the name to look at the genre.
