I'm searching for seinen, josei, shoujo or shounen, where the guy shows his love to the girl too much till the point it becomes part of the comedy essence of the manga. Even the heroine can't take it seriously.
But at times they can be really possessive.
Like Subaru from Watashi no Ookami-san and Dear, Miketsukami from Youko x Boku SS, or Edgar from Hakushaku to Yousei.

No yaoi or yuri, other genre suit just fine.

Thank you, and happy new year.
:-)

Tamaki from Ouran High School Host Club, though he realised his real feeling at later volumes

Sugar Family - Step-sibling manga but you can kinda ignore that if ur not fussed. Guy has a hilarious sister complex but definately has fits of possessiveness there. The characters are a bit like Haruki and Tamaki from Ouran but the stories a bit more serious.

I think Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun fits somehow.

Yeah, he's a great example. I've only watched Ouran anime, wonder why I didn't read the manga though? Anyway I think I'm going to follow your suggestion and read it. Thank you.

I've only read the early volumes of Sugar Family, it was years ago so I forgot to include it to my reading list. Yeah, I guess you also suggest the one I've been searching for. I knew this manga but I forgot it, thanks for reminding me. I'm going to read it again now that it has already has further scanlation.

Mod Edit: Don't double post.

I highly recommend Junai Tokkou Taichou. It's really humorous if you ask me-- although I wouldn't consider the guy overly possessive, but his way of portraying his love is, without a doubt, silly. eyes

Oh and also, Houou Gakuen Misoragumi! The male protagonist is a two-faced bastard who cares for his partner but also kind of bullies her as if she's his property (yeah, can't get any funnier than that)

Right, he could be counted too. I just started reading it based on your suggestion, and even though I was kinda doubtful at first, you actually hit the nail. Thanks
