Hello, I'm feeling pretty down and I'm tired of stories that have sad endings, I need something with a happy ENDING, and by that I mean one that isn't "could be considered happy", but is actually a "happily ever after" ending. No tragedies (some stories like to kill off characters you really really start to like halfway through the story, no-likie) If it's a romance then it'd be nice if it was at least an Adult or Drama type, but preferably not your typical same-story-over-and-over-shoujo. Other than that it can be any kind of story, Fantasy, Romance, whatever.
Side note: To make it a little clearer with the happy ending, it's okay if it has a sad story all the way til the ending, just as long as the main characters don't die / brain death / cursed to sleep for eternity etc.Spoiler (mouse over to view) Or like Karin, she has to get separated from her family and live / die as a human while her family watches her wither away... Depressing...
Other random thingies: 6+ volumes, doesn't have to be finished, adult / incest is AOK, no ecchi unless it has a mature story, if it is a Yaoi or Yuri please make a note (I personally do not like Yaoi, however some people looking through this thread might, so... Yeah...)

One story that I always recommend to people in a slump (or just in need of something lighthearted) is Husky and Medley it's short, only 7 chapters, but it's based on a true story and it's ending is pretty happy imho (the real life girls are in college today and are actually still together). Yeah, it's yuri. I know of some others but this is the one that always occupies my mind when "happy story" comes up.

there all shoujo but don't follow the story line of most normal shoujo's where you can predict what is going to happen a mile off.
Mars it has a rather happy ending and is a good read
Kare First Love
Bijo ga Yaju (aka) Beauty is the beast is also shoujo but has really, and i mean, really wired characters so it does not follow the same story line as normal ones do.
I don't know wether you are interested but Fruits Basket is really good and has a super duper happy ending.
Last, but definately not least Hot Blooded Woman is a romance with a really happy ending, it is also very funny

Hanako to Guuwa no Tera keeps being interesting until the end, and is quite satisfying

From Far Away is cute and sweet all the way through, I'd say.
Full Moon wo Sagashite has a happy ending for every one of the characters.

Gokusen is a funny and hilarious read.
Also , I think Lovely complex can be considered as a happy story.

Incorrect! Hoshi no Samidare has the best ending EVAR! But I see you've read that already.
Seriously though, Mahoraba is good. I think Change 123 has a similar ending, but is more ecchi if you're into that.
Chobits has a semi-bittersweet ending, but still good.
Emma has a great ending (read to the end of Volume 10, the "extra tales")
Umm what else... Ai Yori Aoshi perhaps?

And I don't agree that mahoraba was happy... quiet magician girl should have become the main TTT-TTT

Are some really nice original shoujo mangas that have plenty of smiles, although Skip Beat is the only ongoing series from the one's I've listed, its a really good read.
