well the reason i asked was because i wanted to know the reasoning from girls not a guy who might, actually might, have it wrong. roll eyes

*shrugs* He's kind of got it right for older women (at least my grandmother totally refuses to give her age). Some girls may give a younger age if the guy is younger then them-either make it seem that the girl is younger than him or only a couple of years older-she says she's two years older when she's really 5 years older-'cause she thinks the guy doesn't want to date a girl who's older than him-'specially not much older. *shrugs* After a certain age-and it completely depends on the girl- a lot of girls I know won't give an age. There's also the "you're (age) and still single?!" factor.

On the date thing, seconding what the other girls said, and adding in that if possible, you're going to want to have a decent read (basically talk to her a bit first, get comfortable) on the girl before you ask her out-you may end up with a girl who's good at hints or one who needs to be told things straight out. (My friends run the gamut from really subtle to totally dense.)

I'm just curious, but do you need to build up some kind of friendship before asking or can you out of the blue just ask someone out for lunch or something?

The age thing with women and their fear of been called old applies to women after their 28. 30 is the mark for been called mature, implying almost close to mid age. It's like how most normal men does not want to be looked upon as weak, most normal women does not want to be unattractive, age been a factor.

And you are right, it depends on the kind of person too. Get to know her first, or rather observe her actions, not stalking her, just observe her actions when you have a chance.

From observing all of your profile ages.......most of you are older than me.....how can you not know, no offense of course.

Woman tells her age depending on how old she feels;P Truly, I'm a girl and I don't know. Maybe because everyone at first sight gives me less years than I have (I'm 21 but most people are certain that I'm far from being of age). But I second story645, the thing with younger guys is a true matter, the same as "still single" factor... (hate that... *sigh*)

Personally, I think either would be fine.

I remember one time a random guy hugged me for no reason. It was strange, but it made me feel good. I think the spontaneous asking-out would be like that. Strange, but equally as effective and enjoyable as building a friendship.

Of course, you can never quite tell how someone's going to react. Worth a go, though.

Lot's of my friends are already getting married, so I'm already doing old maid jokes and I'm only 20. I've got friends who are 25/29 and single, and they've gotten pitying looks-one even got a lecture on things she should be doing to get a husband.*
*It's a more traditional Orthodox Jewish community, and this woman was particularly nosy.

Ok, to get back on topic

Experience? I've got friends who totally live in a bubble, and some who are just dense-and a bunch who are a combination of the two. There's also common sense, how good you are at reading other people and interacting with them, all sorts of things that most people pick up (by doing things, watching the world, some even by reading/observing media and filitering out the junk) and some just don't-often 'cause of lack of exposure.

I'm gonna agree with Ares on this one-it depends on the girl. I've dragged people I've just met to lunch, only chatting with 'em for a few seconds in class. So you don't need a friendship, but exchange a couple of words in class/at work/etc. Though usually, I wouldn't consider the lunch anything more than a lunch.

Also, it depends how out of the blue-would you date a total stranger? A guy once hit on me on the public bus-I said no to that 'cause the few things I knew about him made me not want to date him, but I'll give him credit for at least talking to me before asking for my number.

Depends on the girl-I'm in love with my personal space, so I'd want to punch the guy. Once went to a dinner where a guy wanted to kiss a friend on the cheek, so he gave all the girls kisses-I was so horrified 'cause I don't get kissed by anyone. Even with my *huggy* friends, I'm usually stiff as a board.

well theres no real way to compare the two... but i'd guess girl's.

see there are questions along that type that indreju would have trouble answering for the opposite gender roll eyes

Do most girls want a relationship to start with the guy asking the girl out before, or do they prefer the spontaneous hook up and then relationship to follow?

Well, it was at school, and I'd seen him around the halls, but we'd never spoken or anything, so... I don't know. Maybe I am just a strange girl. sad

And like story645 said, it'd probably be best if the other party is at least an acquaintance. If a complete stranger asked me to lunch, I'd probably say no, but if he was a coworker (not that I have a job, but hypothetically speaking in the future) then I'd probably say yes. Depends on the situation, I guess.

A question for boys.

Why are so many guys judgemental about how a girl dresses?
Like, tomboys and girly girls. and stuff. O_o

well personally i dont care what the girl wears, as long as its clean lol but some of my friends who are judgmental about it say it's because they want to see the girl dress "sexy"/"appealing" (i think its mostly cuz they wanna see something revealing, hence the comments against tomboys)

I don't know.......if I were a guy and you ask me what kind of girl would I want. I would answer: "the kind of girl that knows my heart, for I don't care if she isn't pretty"

From how my girlfriend's "good time" sounds like. And my own personal experience, i would say that it depends on techniques, if a guys noes how then the good times is about equal. I think.

And on behalf of guys girls tend to use their friends to find out for them if u like them so even if u like their friend who is asking you if u like her friend answer responsible!!!!!! don't just say something like no or something else stupid that ruins alot of chances and hurts feeling. Girls talk to one another!

question for girls?
why do girls ask questions during sex? like if u love them? and is the answer always yes or do they want something else?! What are they looking for?

clothing makes a difference since different cloths can give off diff. impressions. If u going out for something special u should dress nice

well, it doesnt necessarily have to be revealing to be attractive. my friend sometimes dresses really well and everyone thinks she looks good. other times she put on the weirdest stuff that just makes her look less attractive than she really is. of course that includes the right amount of make-up etc.
