He's probably just too shy to show his affection for you in front of other people. So, don't think anything of it. Maybe as time goes on, he won't mind as much, and start holding your hand in public, etc. Just take one little step at a time. ;P

I reckon it could be a matter of experience. It could be that the guy only had a few girlfriends in the past, or possibly the girl he is with now is his first, so he doesn't know how to properly act. In private it is all good since there is no one there judging him, but in public and especially around his friends he would be as cold as ice.

But it also depends on the guy as well. I had a friend that had no problem showing his affection to his girl even though she was his first. They basically had dry sex whenever they were together.

But I agree with Dr. Love. It really shouldn't be an issue, as time goes by the dude would become more comfortable in showing his affection in public.

For the 'If I turned into the opposite gender' question. If I turned into a chick the first thing I would do is to go to the mall and see how much free stuff I can get off the male cashiers. My chick friends always do that and the amount of free stuff they get astounds me...(one even got a GPS system valued at $750, no joke! I saw the price tag!!)
