Hi
I'm pretty new to manga and I'm having trouble finding ones that I really like. Could I ask of some assistance? 
I'm into anything that's realistic and could happen in real life. Plus I have to like the main characters. Other than that, I'm open to anything. I like things that make laugh, has tasteful romance, drama, and anything else really.
My first one was Fruits Basket and I really love KouKou Debut and 23:00 right now too.
Any suggestions?

For really realistic-ish (I'm not really sure seeing how I've only read Parasyte out of all these titles.):

That's why I listed it under "some popular ones", I didn't mean it to be realistic. I just thought that if they liked Furuba and Koukou Debut, they might like Host Club...

Basing on koukou debut, I'll assume you're okay with the meet cute scenario, but you want more toned down/grounded? you may like:
comedies:
Nodame Cantible
Lovely Complex
Nosatsu Junkie - don't let the model thing throw you off, the lead's still pretty relatable
on the drama side:
Good Morning Call
Kiss Zekkou Kiss
Hot Gimmick - the main pair is questionable, I happen to like the side one more
Kare Kano - tilts to the melodramatic, but if you like FB this may work
Seconding Nana (even my brother finds it relatable)
Shorts:
The King's Pawnshop
Hayabusa (ROPPONGI Aya)
Solanin - it's mostly about growing up

Oh well I'm still going through the process of figuring out what I do and don't like but I wouldn't mind a few suggestions from these genres. Just as long as it's tasteful and not unrealistic.
