We've added a slight new feature for series comments. You can now vote "yes" and "no" if the comment was helpful or not. If you have the time, please help fill up the database by voting!

For instance, was Naruto comment 65 helpful in getting you interested in the series or whatnot? (random example)

For now, we will just be recording data. Once enough votes have been made, we'll design a system that will actually use the data for something that'll benefit everybody!

Completely unnecessary in my opinion. Not all comments are written to peak the interest of others.
Sometimes you just want to... comment on something.

Yeah, but I don't think this will restrict people from making their own comments, whether they be useful comments or not. When the system is fully implemented, it would just emphasize "useful" comments more (listing them first or whatever), so that readers wondering if they should try a series out can find those comments easily.

I never used such a feature on other sites, but I guess that it'll distinguish the more detailed comments from the "this rocks!" comments.

What if there is a line for helpful or not comment like if the no is beyond like certain numbers than that comment will be deleted. That surely remove the useless one ^^

May not be used by many due to their laziness, but in my opinion useful for those who needs them. I for one would end up using the system and take it to an extend level to put into my advantage. So all in all agreeable idea.

The thing is: with a system like the that rates comments there will always be problems.
For example, if I say something negatively on a manga, people who like it are going to bombard me with "useful: no", even if my criticism were justified (and thus useful).
And this isn't me speculating. Just take a look at other websites that have similar feature, like youtube.
It's a nice idea in theory, but i rather see other more useful improvements to this site than to rate comments.

Do we get to see how many people found a certain comment useful?
-and best of luck data collecting, lol... (I feel like a guinea pig =p)

That is indeed a true fear. I just spent 20 minutes voting on comments. I found 5 out of 100 or so useful. That would make it look like I was a fan boy down-voting comments to any system analyzing a users voting habits to put in a weight...

Hey, that would be just like Amazon's comments (and it seems there's this crazy writer that's been attacking this commenter/reviewer that due to the reviewer giving 3 stars to her book, and stuffing the reviews for her books with only 5-star reviews...although this couldn't happen with manga here, and I would think mangaka have more lives to do than that (and that 99% of published authors have better things to do than the nutty writer)...).

I saw something like that on youtube..
But never mind that^^

I was wondering, why can't we see how many people voted what?
Because there isn't a point in having this>.<
But wait, you said it'd be counted, or sorted, or something?
Will the users be able to see it (soon?^^) X3

Personally I find this getting annoying and wasting space for me XD cause "yes or no" in every post just kind of killing me..
