Well I kind of knew it was coming. I used to go a lot to their site where they had their raw section and find nice goodies there.
The manga I read from them were Kanna (Which they dropped long time ago), Forget-me-not (can't remember if they finished it), Baby Leaf since it's sequel to Honeymoon Salad (shouldn't be needed to say why XD ), Avian Wander and Kurozakuro.
What's sad about it all is that all those manga didn't have a lot of volumes and are ended while there's so little left. I find it sad that the group died, but more that they didn't get to finish any of those titles (except baby leaf) when they were so close.
We see it often, someone mentioned Shoujo Magic...that was weird. Reason was that the person at Shoujo Magic as I read it a long time ago didn't want to do joints with other groups except if they went to her to ask! WTF! You don't need to have a pride when you are going down with the flag, heck you should be happy if someone wants to help you out with one of your project.
The same can be said by Hanashi. If you need help ask, recruit or get a joint with others. Who knows maybe an angel will descend from the sky. Of course not having a translator really limits you...a lot. I should know I run a group myself but I don't cry and shut it down that fast. Well I wouldn't if I was so close to finish that many titles.
I hope some great soul will try to contact them and help them finish those series so they can be proud and look at their finished products when they leave.
Yes, translators seem to be a rare breed like always, let's all learn japanese XD
To Hanashi; If you get someone to help you out, great. If not, or if you decide to shut it down then thanks for all those titles. I had "read" the raws of those titles before you took them so I was quite happy to see someone picking up those good titles, even if they weren't mainstream manga like most people want to read. Thanks for all those 5 years^^
PS: I hate tards that run away and never come back. That should be okay to leave but at least tell the people who are waiting for you, idiot. Yes, I know all about it too...which is why I'm the only one running my group as the leader. -_-;;;;;

their release schedule was terrible, they had like one release per 3 months. even a hq scan should only take 2 weeks TOPS. this group never really had what it takes.

I never said anything about size or quality of the group.
I said that a few groups shutting down wont kill scanlation.

October is a time when many groups traditionally disband or just cease to exist, because due to school, staff members become unmotivated to continue working on scanlations anymore.

You're just looking at the rate they released when they were already nearly dead, not the one they had when they were actually active.

well hanashi has been like what? few years already and their release was like only 1 or 2 release for 1 year? and its already months even a year or so if i remembered about their last release.
Im surely gonna miss them though , but at least they should have passed the baton to other groups when they couldnt release their scan in a timely maner.

I joined Hanashi last year, during their recruitment drive. (I was the only person to join.) Rather than disbanding due to a lack of a translator, it would be more accurate to say that most of the remaining members of Hanashi have gotten older and lost their drive to scanlate. This was just a formal announcement; the writing has been on the wall for some time now.

yes, like 2 years ago XD lol
Well they are dead and if there's a translator who wants to work and finish those projects I wrote in my post before (except kanna, got none of those raws) then I got nothing against taking them up as projects in Shi-Ki .
We are also slow too but I'll guarantee that if it's translated then I will release it, even if I have to edit it myself. I finish what I start as long as I don't get a really good reason not to. So sad that I can't translate it myself yet

The sentence with the huge font on their site did indicate that kind of thing too >.>

Stop being a twit, when people are giving you free things, while you just leech.
If you ever tried doing scanlations, they take up so much of your free time, if you had free time to begin with, anyway.

Everybody has free time (at least sufficient for cleaning/typesetting at least 1 chapter a week).
It's just whether or not you got the motivation to do it.

They don't post new groups that start out on the front page.
There seems to be a lot more releases than 6 years ago, so I don't really think it is dying.
