And why noone mentiones yuri, it is targeted too as long as it is with homosexual theme too. GL is in the same danger as yaoi and it is not even mentioned in the main post. IshiThara targets all same-sex couples, not only the male ones and I'm sure he targets gender-bender as well. And the industry is not only manga/anime, it is cd dramas, novels, magazines etc.

Yaoi will not be affected as it is for 18+ anyways. But I really don't know what will happen to ecchi and the student/teach relationship thing.
Anyways from your comment, I'm guessing that you mean it would be absurd to ban yaoi, ecchi, and student/teacher relatioships, but not hentai and real porn? Sorry the way you word it can get people confused on what you mean. I think the whole no violence thing is stupid too! That's like, 90% of shounen mangas.

What confuses me most is that almost all articles state that this is a ban of whole ero-genres/plots, no matter targeted to minors or adults, and you have to read tones of comments to see that it is labeling and no 18+ mangas would be afected. I wonder why then IshiThara puts that accent of the homosexuality as long as it is 18+ anyway. The same abt incest and age gap. My only conclusion is that he means no minor characters in mangas which are yaoi/yuri and incest/age gap. Also imo he can't forbid shounen-ai/shoujo-ai for minors as long as they don't contain smex. It is vague what this new law adds to the one that is in force now.

we need akumetsu!!! Btw how do you ban gundam, its targetted more for an adult audience anyways with all that war philosophy and all. Thats a load of bull. Sex is part of the human way of life, and banning homosexuality is no different than being a homophobe, this is more like some ignorant bigotted stereotypical 'Hick' law to me. Next thing you know their banning all homosexuals, bisexuals, veteren, blacks, and non-japanese all together.
Did i also mention this is against freedom of speech? Manga is no different than literature. If girls can read those lame supermarket smut romance novel paperbacks, they have every right to read those dirty smut mangas. If you're banning series like macross and gundam you might as well ban all those books in relation to violence anyways.
Fuck those assholes who want 'decency' more like they want to garner support in the form of votes from those neurotic over-protective asian parent types. Next thing you know were burning books, and destroying hard drives just because their 'dangerous'.

Believe me, I perfectly know the difference between yaoi and shounen-ai. But IshiThara says "homosexuality" which means BL and GL and particulary gender-bender. We can see the differences but he as a homophobe generalizes everything under one label.

Perfeclty said! Trying to hide from the kids things that are natural and a part of the human life is what is harmful. Not their showing in books, TV etc. It is abnormal to keep the children ignorant about what the real life is. The way how this must be shown to them may be debatable but not the same question if they must be shown.

P.S. For the homophobes there's no matter if it is yaoi, shounen-ai or slash, as long as it is boy x boy it has their hatred and fall under one label. I get this conclusion when I saw much hateful comments in AnimeTake abt Uraboku (which is very soft shounne-ai). The ppl which read BL knows the difference inside of this term. But the homophobes put it under one label.

The comments describe best what the real danger is. Important for the adult-manga fans - the bill is not abt these titles. Imo we have to keep reading this site for best updates abt the law and to know what its real effect will be.

uh it actually quiet true that it is affected mostly around 90% of manga cuz most manga conatin violence if not then romance most of them contain ecchi or supernatural
