I haven't read all the posts but is it true that the creator of pokemon died in the quake?

I picked option 5 not because I'm a heartless piece of shit but quite frankly the only people I collectively know in japan are the creators of manga/anime/games thru their works. I don't know if this makes me sound callow or however you people feel like interpreting this but I can't pick option 4 because frankly just because I don't personally know anyone in japan I still $@#$@# care about the fact that people are dieing. I don't know any of them personally, however I still feel concerned to at the very least the people whose works I've read. So I say to all the commentators above me maybe not everyone is as callow as you believe and maybe that's just the only option we can select to make our concern know,

If i had said "no, but I hope my favourite mangaka are ok" or similar words, then I wouldn't have a problem, but the choice was "no but the manga releases might be affected", which implies you care more about getting manga than about the safety of those who write it. I understand that most people who chose that option do not feel this way, and have genuine sympathy for those affected, but the fact remains that it does say manga releases, not mangaka. That is why people are outraged. I'm sorry if you got offended by the strong words previously issued, but I live in Tohoku, this wasn't a terrible piece of evening news to me. As much as I love manga, when the next issue comes out is far from my mind atm, so even the implication that that is what people care about is, frankly, very disheartening and irritating to me. Again, this is not to say that those who chose that option think this, but the wording was not very good. It doesn't matter now since the poll had ended, but I wanted to explain from the POV of someone affected why option 5 angered people.

P.S - sorry for typos, my keyboard sucks. Corrections - 'If it had said' & 'wasn't just a terrible piece of evening news'

idk about others, but for me the last option appeared as an alternative wording of the 4th option embarrassed
