This week's poll is from Dragonfiremule. For those of you that don't know, Lent is a 40 day period practiced by some Christian denominations in where a person would give up something for the purpose of using that time/money in other ways (typically prayer, repentance, donations, etc). The purpose of this poll is for you to evaluate yourself to see if you could actually give up anime/manga. Or are you too reliant on this form of entertainment? Perhaps that's a bad thing... you decide.

You can discuss this poll on our forums here:
http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=25015

You can submit poll ideas here (and try to keep them manga/anime-related):

I don't do lent, but I don't see why I couldn't stop reading manga for a month. I mean I have before. Mind you my time spent on this would just slide over to other media. I have a number of books I've been meaning to read.

Well, I'm from germany, and my english is good (but not native, obviously ;-) , but still, I did not now how to translate "Lent" so I choose "What's Lent?" - Because of vocabulary reasons ....

Do you have statistics about the nationality/languages of site visitors? (p.e. IP-Region-Based or based on the default site language?)

Same reason, little google and the answer was "No way!"
I could have done the third one, but afterward there would have been to many chapters to catch up...

i voted "I could give that up, but I don't celebrate Lent" and when the ip resets i will vote for "What's Lent?"

because both option are true for me^^

i never heard of Lent, so obviously i dont celebrate it, but i could give up manga for a month. i do that sometimes anyways when exams are in the near future.

Lent is the time before Easter. I tried to look it up in German, but I could not find it.

I've given manga for Lent before, so yeah, I could do it again.
