This week's poll comes from the mind of SilverStripe. For those of you that read romance, how much drama do you like in it? Very subjective... I mean, how much is too much? Yes, I do realize that not everyone wants to read about romance.

This week's poll is more about the comments and examples than the results. So discuss the poll on our forums here:
http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=30939

You can submit poll ideas here (and try to keep them manga/anime-related):
http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=3903

Previous Poll Results:
Question: Do you still use IRC?
Choices:
Always! - votes: 781 (5.4%)
Only sometimes - votes: 1166 (8.1%)
Only to download stuff - votes: 2388 (16.6%)
Used to, but not anymore. It's dying - votes: 2194 (15.3%)
Have never used IRC before - votes: 3438 (23.9%)
What is IRC? - votes: 4397 (30.6%)
There were 14364 total votes.
The poll ended: December 24th 2011

The old generation has gone away. The new has taken its place.

PS: It's Christmas Eve! In case I forget to write a post for Christmas (which is possible), then Merry Christmas~

PSS: For all scanlation groups that wish to have MangaUpdates announce their release on Christmas day, please realize that we will not artificially change the date of your release. The time/day you report the release to us will be the day it will be announced here. With that said, the website is currently running on MST (Mountain Standard Time), but it's actually on PDT, as the servers run on Pacific time but they haven't adjusted for Daylight Savings...

Barely any drama. But not so much lack of drama as not being able to stand the cliche drama formulas that are used about 99% of the time. Don't mind it at all if it's something imaginative or innovative.

Drama is definitely a must for a series with romance as part of it's main plotline. But seriously, some mangakas need to understand that there is a limit... And that too much drama will end up pissing off their readers.

There isn't an option for: Depends on series/mangaka
Some do it better than others.
There still can be limits though.
After all, when the plot twists become as contrived as an American soap opera or a Mexican telenovela, it is too much.
At some point, it becomes a case of the author just going through the list of cliches.

good point, sometimes even with a lot of drama if its well put together its awesome. But in most cases teh drama is this constant back and forth between teh main characters that its really annoying.

Sick of comedy. The more drama a series, the more respected it becomes to me, except when we are talking about gay heroes/punks (think Naruto) or yuri and especially yaoi shit.

Never a depends

It really depends, sometimes i want mega drama, like telenovela/us soap/kdrama over the top drama.
Sometimes I want a little and sometimes none at all. It's all in how the author approaches it. Some people have a gift for the dramatic and some people obviously do not.
