Either marrying fictional character is dumb or stupid or weird or whatever you think. Personally, i'm wondering: Why the hell did one marry somebody that don't even exist in real world? The person in question must be REALLY infatuated with one of those fictional character(s) so they didn't want other people claim them

Are you asking (1) if this manga/anime character suddenly became real or we suddenly became 2D, would we marry them OR (2) would we marry this drawing on a piece of paper (b/c that has happened) ?

I liked telegrapher's comment in the link. With the increasing lack of truly feminine girls in the real world, it wouldn't be surprising if more people pledge their love to an ideal, gentle virtual person in the future.

Oh, I don't know if I'd marry some of my favorite characters even if they were real. 
But there's no way I'm going to marry a painted picture of some anime character on a pillow or hump a life-size piece of cardboard. Some have gone that route, but at the end of the day I prefer flesh.

Don't really understand this one. Is it that I would marry a character that automatically came alive and was real (and more importantly, loved me back) or am I just marrying a concept or idea? Not going to vote. :S
