This poll is from our member 8-3 (well the general idea of it is, but not his specific options). So assuming that you read a manga and liked it. Now for that same manga, an anime series has been announced. How do you plan to watch it (if you even would watch it...)?

Since the way announcement posts are done has been changed to automatically link to the forum, there shall be no more separate forum posts for discussion. So discuss away (either from the front page or via the forum)!

You can submit poll ideas here (and try to keep them manga/anime-related):
http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=3903

Previous Poll Results:
Question: Do you think the quality of manga is currently declining?
Choices:
Yes, everything only gets worse - votes: 635 (5%)
In general, yes, but there are some really good works lately - votes: 4866 (38.4%)
No difference at all - votes: 2372 (18.7%)
In general, no, but some new manga are really bad - votes: 4063 (32.1%)
No, the new manga are a lot better than older ones - votes: 725 (5.7%)
There were 12661 total votes.
The poll ended: March 16th 2012

I realize it's a very generalized question, but don't forget that the site polls are for fun! The votes were amazingly pretty split right down the middle. (And in other news, quarter system schools (at least here at my college) have finals soon, so good luck!)

It really depends... on a lot of factors.

But most of the time, if I like it, I try it and see.

It won't be a high priority, but I'd watch it weekly.

Depends on the quality of the adaptation and how much I liked the manga, but for the most parts, I would say no. It takes a lot less time to read than to watch bigrazz

yeah I agree with Damnedman, If I don't like the manga in the first place, I won't bother watching the anime, if so-so, I'll wait until all episodes have come out.
If I love the manga, I'll wait eagerly and watch it as soon as new episodes come out which is what I'm doing now regarding Tasogare Otome x Amnesia bigrazz

I rarely watch anime these days so it's highly unlikely that I'd watch it. However, if I really like this particular manga I might try watching the anime adaption once it's complete.

I'd watch it when it comes out and follow on from there weekly. Might not be as good as the manga, but I'll still give it a shot.

I rarely watch anime that I had already read as manga, so I probably won't watch it at all.

Depends mostly on whether or not I liked the manga. And partly upon how long ago I read the manga (if it's 3 or 4 years, I might not remember all the details, so it'll feel fresher).

I'd probably watch the first episode or ask someone else about it, see if it's any good.
If it is, I'd probably watch it weekly.

Won't watch it at all.
If the manga from anime I've watched, maybe I'll read it. MAYBE.
But if anime from manga I've read, nope.
Humm but there are exception, like Hotarubi no Mori e. Since it's just a movie, I could push myself for watching it. But if series is no, no.

This rarely happens for me since most of the series that get an anime are ones with seductively dressed magical girls, romance, mecha, school life (usually middle school or first year of high school roll eyes ), and late-night ecchi shows filled with fan service (90% of these Japanese girls having huge tits roll eyes laugh ). It's like every anime is written for lonely people who have their dicks in their hand the entire episode (using their tears as lube laugh ). So much sexual tension and angst and cliches that have been beaten to death so bad that ero-guro fans could fap to it.
One recent rare exception is Mirai Nikki, but I've yet to watch any episodes as I feel the anime would ruin what I did like about the series. Many of the times I watch an anime based from a manga I've already finished it's never as good as the manga. Sometimes, they completely ruin the series altogether. Every now and then you find an anime that does great justice for it's manga, but just very, very rarely. I also prefer when they don't deviate from the original plot and have little to no filler. I'd rather have the anime condensed than expanded with a bunch of extra crap that doesn't advance the plot. Something like covering 2-3 chapters per episode instead of 1 chapter per episode like One Piece seemingly does. Filler champ would be Naruto. Should haven ended a long time ago and is now ruined goes to Bleach. The manga that is just one big filler with a plot sprinkled in is tied with Beelzebub and Sora no Otoshimono. And finally, the manga that everyone can predict what will happen next is Cage of Eden. There are others, but those are all pretty much the most well known.
This is more about the last poll, but manga and anime series keep getting worse. It's all about fan service and hybridized, generic, poorly recycled, unaltered (except maybe a 10% change in circumstances) cliches. Like I said before, unrealistic romances, scantily-clad little girls (and sometimes cross-dressing boys), harems with one of every type of girl (tsundere girl, female childhood friend, shy girl, flat-chested girl, big tits girl, glasses (maybe loner as well) girl, rich girl, school idol, sadist and/or masochist girl, student council president, socially awkward girl, but usually there are combinations of 2 or more of those qualities and bang, you have a harem), and girls who do most of the fighting so their clothes get torn off. I'd rather not see a girl with the body of a 10-year-old flashing panties and a lot of skin. Hell, I'd rather not watch any hentai or borderline hentai since most is geared to weird fetishes like piss and shit, incest, pedophilia, incest pedophilia, rape, "gender bender," and massive tits that defy gravity. I'd rather go get laid in real life or fap to real porn laugh

tl;dr
Anime is mostly fan service for kids, pedophiles and sexual deviants who enjoy unrealistic "slice of life" and romance and school life (also painfully unrealistic; perhaps viewed to forget their own painful experiences?). Fillers and plot deviations are all too frequent. Anime ruins the original manga 90% of the time with the same generic, lightly modified (if that) plots and story lines. I'd rather wait a week or two longer for better quality episodes. All my personal opinion.

I'd watch the anime as it comes out if I really like that manga and I'd like to see it animated.
If its a romance anime I'd probably watch it when I feel like it. Romance manga are generally quite slow paced animes. (I think from the animes that I've seen roll ). If an anime depicts the manga as fan service, fillers and no continuation of the plot I wouldn't watch it.
