The eye techniques are endless but what I learned from this chapter was Itachi really should have won the fight between him and Sasuke. If he wanted to, he coulda shot Sasuke's ass all the way to the moon.

Hopefully this will be the end of it. (Technically, Izanagi should have been the end of it since Izanami didn't give birth to those children.) Otherwise, we're in for a looong line of sharingan powerups since together Izanagi and Izanami gave birth to a bunch of deities and the Japanese islands. bigrazz

Don't forget that Shisui's Sharingan had Kotoamatsukami. It was apparently unique to him, but who's to say Sasuke won't pull a power unique to his eyes?

I've been completely lost ever since they brought back every character ever. I simply CAN'T remember that many people. I don't remember their names or their powers or their stories. Just TOO MANY CHARACTERS!
But I think this is my own problem, not necessarily the mangaka's. I'm sure he remembers all of his characters. But I sure as hell can't.

So now I read a chapter every now and then and go, "Nope. I still don't understand." It's really the only thing that's made me (mostly) drop it. Oh, and my firm belief that you should keep a character dead when you kill them.

I think all I have to do is find a good summary of this arc, so that I can understand all the recent plot developments without having to double back and reread too much. Maybe I'll be able to keep up once I'm caught up. roll eyes

I'm liking this development. how could kabuto possibly fail harder? first, he's all buff relying on the power of a loser.(orochimaru) now he's facing itachi, who is only alive because he did so. kabuto not only failed to control itachi, but also failed to just undo the zombie jutsu. bonus points if he waits to try it when it's too late, coincidentally teaching how to completely end his participation on the story.

Looks like some people don't realize it: Izanagi-no-Mikoto (male) and Izanami-no-Mikoto (female) are the names of gods of creation who were lovers in Japanese mythology, which is why Itachi said the two jutsu need to pair together. They have an interesting story.

At any rate, it was predicted that there was a jutsu called Izanami ever since Izanagi was mentioned, so it is not all that surprising.

I don't see how everyone is looking at this as an opportunity for Sasuke to become stronger, though; he doesn't seem to know how to use Izanagi in the first place, and even if he he did learn either, their high risk would render them useless.

Furthermore, if you think about it, we have never really seen Itachi go all-out during his living years, and knowing a couple of kinjutsu is hardly unexpected for a ninja of his calibre. Even the calm, caluculating Sage Kabuto has admitted and been outsmarted by Itachi's insightfulness.

Kabuto was lying when he said he wanted Sasuke to join him (& to be his 'older brother'), right? I am pretty sure Kabuto has expressed desire to avenge Orochimaru's death in the past. He was just trying to manipulate the easier target.

I'm pretty sure they put all kinds of crap into Madara to make him stronger for the war. Hence the first Hokage's head on him, the Rinnegan, etc. He didn't already have Rinnegan.

Madara actually said that he awakened the Rinnegan shortly before he died.
Apparently the Rinnegan is the Sharingan's evolved form. I think Kabuto added the First Hokage cells to Madara's body though... (but I think Madara already had similar plans for his reincarnation).

I'm actually really surprised at all these criticisms. Why do people even expect kishi to be pragmatic. This is a shonen manga. Stop beating your head over how its so ridiculous.

I think many of us have just outgrown the shonen story type (aka plot holes galore). The readers who started reading Naruto in 8-10 years ago are not teens anymore.

Many readers just hate plot holes though, while enjoying the manga for what it is. I've been enjoying it a whole lot ever since Nagato attacked Konoha. Since then Naruto has been steadily improving as a protagonist. But plot holes always suck, and the Sharingan is infamous for them. Remember how a shinobi had to kill his best friend in order to get the Mangekyo Sharingan? And yet Sasuke got it, and so did Kakashi without as much as an explanation...

Sasuke got it due to killing his older brother. Kakashi's wasnt explained but it may have something to do with Obito's death way back when. If i had to guess i'd say he focused on the feeling's of guilt for involuntarily killing Obito and awakened it.

you know what?
At least Sasuke learn to understand and be patient with his brother,
the first time he saw Naruto after a while he tried to kill him and stuff....but now I see a Sasuke that is patient, well maybe it's just me but I hope Naruto kicks his ass!
