i haven't read this manga yet and i was thinking of starting it but i really don't like stuff with rape. could anyone elaborate on why there is a gang rape tag? spoilers are fine i'd just like to know what happened in the story regarding rape. thanks

Too good to be a doujinshi? Have you even seen those things? Of all the genres, hentai has the best artists.
Anyway, I vote that it's a doujinshi. If anyone wants to confirm it themselves, the volume is available on YesAsia for a decent price.

I'm an artist and I can vouch that copying an artist's style is a very easy matter for any artist at a semi-professional level, and there are even amateurs who specialize in drawing one style and focus only on that style, to the point that they develop mastery over it.
Here are my thoughts:
These top three images are actual pages from Addicted to Curry. My reasoning is the parallel storyline (Yui getting attacked and the boys rushing to save her, plus slight comedy in the first frame). In ero doujinshi, the sex scenes are generally given main importance. Also, the Shounen Jump logo is on the top.
There is no sex seen, only a build-up, and it appears to end up as a "saved just in time" scene. Supporting my point, you can see the silhouette of someone running towards her in the last frame of the first page.
This, however, is a doujinshi. The hair is different, the size and style of the eyes are different, the style of drawing nipples is different, her breast size is different - it might not even be her in the first place! Furthermore, take note of the subtle detail in the ribs, abs and hip that is not apparent in the first link. The rolled back/mindbreak eyes and needless exposing of privates is a common trait of hentai. The line quality of the hair in the second link is much smoother than the first, and the line thickness in the first one varies more than in the second.
Also, I can read Japanese, and they're not saying anything of importance as far as I've looked.
