I'm looking for historical manga/manhua with strong female lead.I also really like the mangas where the lead goes back in time I would like some romance but not required. I Like adventure, fighting, sienen, romance, drama
Something similar to:
- Basara
- sengoku strays
- saver
- red river
- Kanata Kara
- Operation liberate men
-Tail of the moon
- Legend of nereid
- Sarasah
- Juuo no Hana
- Kaze hikaru
- Immortal rain (although not historical)

Definitely no one shots/ yaoi/yuri/ try to stay away from echii/shounen ai
I prefer longer mangas like Basara and Saver, but as long as its not one shots I'm open to them.

No Otoyomegatari suggestions so far? IMHO the best historical manga with a female lead.

Shingeki no Kyojin
Maoyuu Maou Yuusha - "Kono Watashi no Mono Tonare, Yuusha yo" "Kotowaru!"
top in my reading list, One has a badass female lead, the other got an intelligent beauty

Claymore kinda fit with your desc
1/2 Prince apart from gender bender, this manhua is okay...
Black Lagoon seinen, action, and female lead is really dangerous, don't mess with her

Übel Blatt just in case if you want to read seinen, try this one

If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say it has something to do with the fact that when one searches the forum for a given set of keywords, the results are ordered with seemingly no regard for the date of the most recent post in the topic.

The bigger question should be how the thread nearly got 8000 views while featuring a lot of manga without a historical setting or even some without a female protagonist. Ja Lorska, auch dein Eintrag.
How did i miss the history classes on magic and dragons @ school. Must have been some radical times back in the Hyborian Age laugh . (Just read Azumi.)

If you're still looking I recommend:
The Cradle of the Sea
Azumi (Lots of Blood and Gore)
Arte

I highly recommend these series to people who want a strong female lead (historical or not)
