Rayout (stylised as 'ray=out') is seeking an experienced typesetter (intermediate or advanced level) for Okusan, Re:Marina and SE (System Engineer). The choice is yours.

Position Details:

Editor must be well-versed in cleaning, redrawing, cloning, some typesetting knowledge and is available to devote time to the project. The main role is to remove all of the Japanese text in bubbles and boxes (as a separate layer), SFX (depending on project) and any addtional notes. Redrawing accurately, if needed.

A typesetter's role is to create layers for each translation line via the text box, making them the correct font size (matching the original Japanese or lower if the text doesn't fit the space), placing them in the correct space and positioning the text to fit into the speech bubbles or boxes (centred). Redrawing is an asset.

Source of Material:

Okusan: High-quality post-processed scans. These are our own scans that we have purchased and scanned.

SE (System Engineer): Public raws. I like the manga, but wouldn't say I love it enough to buy it.

Re-Marina: Public tankouban scans. May purchase if public tankoubans are no longer available or the magazine scans are terrible in quality.

Translation Status:

Okusan: Our translations are up-to-date on the latest magazine scans. We have all the chapters and bonus content from released volumes translated as well. Releases should be frequent provided certain tasks are done up to pace.

SE: As of the 20th of July, we have 20 chapters translated. Provided I can get an experienced typesetter, this can be released on a consistent basis.

Re:Marina - As of the 17th of July, we have 14 chapters translated. Provided I can get an experienced typesetter, this can also be released on a consistent basis.

What we can guarantee:

We can guarantee that our translations are 99.9 per cent accurate. We hire only the best translators, while manga projects that need additional assistance are checked by our former professional translator. Although we look for personnel that have JLPT N3 or higher certification, we tend to get JLPT N1 translators. In the last three years, we had over 30 potential translations apply to us.

If you think you can help us, please fill out the form on the left side of this page. If you don't see the recruitment page, click here. If more than one person applies for this position, we shall be looking for the individual that meet our criteria (mainly dedication to the project and won't leave abruptly).

Bump. *Still looking for a magazine scans editor that can help me with SE. The inconsistencies of public raws are making it very difficult and time consuming (hence the long release times). An experienced magazine editor (that can output within two days) will help greatly.

Edit: CLEANER
I'm interesting in working with manga scan groups, I'm also good in graphic design. I don't want to work for money, I want to be part of the manga community. I'm in my second year in College, I'm studying communications and new media and I love working with other programs like Gimp, Pixelmator. I would love to become a graphic designer for any groups in needing one at the moment. http://goldengentleman.deviantart.com/
