Well there have been a lot of speculation of Rai's death in the future. I really don't know why people even think this way. I mean the author will most likely be lucky if he get away with 1 arm and 1 leg if he did kill Rai LOL. Also he is the title character.
Anyways I believe that Ragnarok might be something that will help Rai's condition which is why the LORD has given it to him and also that the current LORD hasn't taken it as hers. I don't think hibernation will help Rai since he was already in bad condition even after sleeping for 820 years.
Also is Frankenstein maybe in contract with Rai? The latest chapters talk about contracts and such so I assume that it is the same as Frankenstein.

hmm, I hadn't thought about a contract between Rai and Frankenstien. It's a possibility, but I don't think Rai would have made one. It was said before that Frankie modified himself to reach heights greater than an average human, not that Rai helped him.
I don't think Rai will die...probably. I don't think the author/artist would want to kill him off. Although I think the Lord left Ragnarok soley because she didn't believe she had the resolve to take it yet.

Perhaps Rai's body is still weak from the assassination attempt of the traitorous lords.
I'm really quite curious to see what happened back then when they betrayed him.

And I don't want him to die at the end of the series, but it is a possibility.

Rai went to sleep more than 300 years before the traitor's uprising.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I think that Roctis tried to kill him for some other reason.

Ah, thank you for the clarification.

Judging by the words of Frankenstein I wrongly assumed that before Rai hibernated they made an attempt against him

Fuzzy memory and all.

Hmm, that just makes me more curious then.

Maybe the more power he uses the longer he has to sleep? Say the traitor's forced Rai to use up a lot of strength last time so he would be asleep for their rebellion. Otherwise the rebellion would have never happened because Rai would be there.

Frankenstein was frequently worried about him using power immediately after awakening. So I think its safe to assume that he is usually a bit unstable after every hibernation. As for rai dying... I agree completely on this one, author would perish in a horrifying wave of raging fan girls. That being said they said something about his power shortening his life every time... so I think he would have negative aftereffects to large displays of power even if his condition were in its prime. Just not quite as much.... overall id say the series might have the sad note of rais death, but he won't go till the end.

Not really, if I'm not mistaken, in the early chapter Frankenstein mention about Rai's hibernation, saying that it was longer than it usually take, worrying that it might give Rai some side effect. Which quite reasonable if we remember that Rai sleep for around 820 years while usually it only take a couple years.

I think Rai still haven't fully recover yet from his past condition(before hibernation) and that his condition is getting worse now, but I don't think that he'll die.

Chapter 236 explained a lot about Rai responsibility and the use of his power. So we know that Rai uses his life for power and that his body is already at its limit. Hibernation wouldn't be enough to recover him. It's really sad but I'm keeping my hopes up.

Frankenstain is most definitely not in a contract with Rai as when he used his powers on Lukedonia, he had to struggle for control which implies it's not a peaceful being and I personally doubt it's with a Noble. Or if it's even a proper contract at all.

As for Rai, I'm afraid his condition will not be cured by Ragnarok or anything else in fact.

One more thing that concerns me is how Rai's power drains his life while nothing like this happens to other Nobles. IMO this implies that Rai might not be a vampire. Human perhaps? In that case then perhaps (if he dies) somebody will succeed him? Or will his life ends when this world no longer needs him?

Considering how popular he is among fans I doubt he's going to definitely die. Perhaps he will become a normal human just like he wished for? That might be a fitting end for when they bring the Union down.

Rai isn't human, Idk where you get this Idea from. Rai is most likely one of those ancient nobles that been living in the world for a long time. Other nobles doesn't drain their life because descendants give their power to their predecessors aka soul weapon and Rai doesn't have one (his noble blood and life). Frankenstein mentions about Lord and other clan leaders visiting him so it most likely that he's been alive even before the past Lords.
Well he wanted a normal life so there are possibility that he might be a human at the end but HE WILL GET OLD =/ lol. Well Frankenstein haven't age so maybe Rai won't too biggrin

Rai will die. Noblesse must end with Rai's death. Otherwise, its going to be another manga where dreams come true and men have two p*nises. If Rai dies, I'd be hooked to the webtoon, or even if he went into hibernation mode it would be wicked! But Rai wont die anytime soon, more like after he wipes out all the bad guys or kills of some of the main ones bigrazz Die Rai Die.

I dont think it will end with Rai dying. Or rather, it is too tragic if he ends up dying after spending his lifetime upholding his duty as a noblesse. cry

Any chance it might end with Rai using too much of his power and goes into hibernation? But this time, he wont be alone because he has Frankeinstein and RK5 waiting until the next time he awakens.

Well, not that i like this ending, i prefer happy ending afterall, but compared to him dying, i will choose hibernation anytime of the day. smile wink grin
