What are some of the worst shoujo series you've ever read? On the top of my head...
Hot Gimmick, Love Monster, Black Bird, Vampire Knight, Kaichou wa Maidsama, are pretty high on my list

Excluding smut, I'd have to say Hot Gimmick. It's probably the only series where I didn't like a single character in it. I don't even understand how it got 12 volumes.
I don't think I've read any other shoujo that i disliked, since I research the series before reading it (summery, reviews, even read spoilers).

If you mean in terms of romance anything by HYR or HMR... Shoujo wise, Fruits Basket, Black Bird, Ouran High School (It was good at first until...) I have such a long list I can't remember but those top it off...

Umm, I try to avoid shojos for this same reason, because most turn out to be tedious...
But I've tried some that seemed cute then I realized I was reading crap...or some that were good, just not to my liking after a while so:
From the top of my head:
The crappy ones:
Oniichan to Issho
Tsubasa wo motsu mono (Maybe not crap but I reaaaally don't like it, like at all)
I can't remember the name of this one but the girl was raped ahd she has completely forgotten about that, but when the memory tries to creep up, she gets headaches and it seems the guy she likes was either responsible, or was there when she got raped. Also she has a scar when she poked herself with a branch as a kid to try and show/prove something to the boy she likes (Cus of course they met as kids) The name was some thing "....blue" like "Deep blue" or "Touch BLue" something like that
I remember, it's called Kiss in the Blue
And another where the kid has a heart problem and the hospital's director's daughter is his childhood friend and they like each other but since he's gonna die he pushes her away and enrolls in a boarding school, but she follows him anyway and she's pretty so she has this one guy after her and they are 12.
The ones not to my liking after a while:
Ouran High School Host Club
Hoshi wa Utau
And a lot of shojo are like that for me...
