Ended as weirdly as the manga at whole, was it worth the time? The art sure as hell was, the story? I still dont know what the story was about nor what the hell happened in the end....thoughts?

That would have been great. Back when they were just a sporting team/street gang and everything was entertaining. Would have been way better if they never got into this crappy cliche villain crap. Author did a fantastic job of f'ing up what was most likely the best idea he will have in his entire career.... actually I haven't seen the end yet... got so horrible I couldn't read it bit by bit and decided to rush through once done... guess ill have to start that. When I first started it I thought I would reread it a hundred times, and now I'm annoyed just dealing with 1 read... spectacular screw up.... wolf guy was better, at least it only went psycho instead of systematically destroying all its good points.

Personally, I believe it "truly" ended after Spitfire died and Ikki created the whole cult thing to get Kazu out of his depression. Things got really weird after that arc.
Not looking forward to Oh Great's next work. I'm disappointed with this series. Started off great, then who knows what happened. I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did.

Why does he have such a fantastic art style but a really shabby story? He usually starts strong but then messes it up royally later on.

I would have the say I like how the author was able to fit a lot of stuff in the last chapter, but the last arc was too much. AT's were was cool as a competition, even with the fighting. But they overpowered everything and it got real awkward. The idea at the end of the people flying as a miracle was real creative. But the manga was trying to be fiction and nonfiction at the same time with the Regalia's.

I think anyone would agree here, this manga was awesome at the beginning but got really screwed up in the end... I really don't know why the author did it this way, it was so much better when they were doing actual ATs and not some "save the world" thingy...
