I don't see what people were expecting from him. Air Gear has amazing arts, but always garbage story. If you read Tenjou then you should know how it works for Oh Great.

Starts of good, middle gets horrible, and by the end everything is just trash.

I feel things stopped making sense around the time Ikki and Ringo had the first fight.

They revisited the crew fights, but the whole gravity children thing killed it in my eyes. It went was too sci-fi, and the plot was lost in the process.

So after reading that ending, I'm still trying to piece together the shattered pieces of my mind because that was a hell of a mindf***. I had no freaking idea what was going on, and how that ending even concludes anything. I gotta say... not really looking forward to Oh Great! so-called next "masterpiece".

Is there a story? Good question. laugh

Speaking of final volume, what's with OG making all his series last volume looking depressing as hell.

See!! Thats why I didn't read it. smile Intelligent me. You can instantaneously tell when something wont make sense to you by the first 10 chapters. Air Gear was one of them. Hitman Reborn the other ~.~ I tried air gear twice and gave up and hitman reborn 4 times >_< lesson learnt for life.

Yes like most people I didn't really like the direction the series was going. However, I did enjoy the fights and the pseudo-science explanation for the techniques that they used. Also, I do have to say I was glad there was an epilogue. Some series don't even show you what happens afterward so I'm at least glad there was one here.

To me this series just didn't come together as a coherent whole. Even if someone really did like the sudden shift into sci-fi, the ideas and setup for this story was unclear and unorganized. I could have sworn they mentioned that you need to do 3 different secret methods in order to gain the sky regalia or something.

Motives and connection between characters were not explained causing confusing in their relevance and importance. It didn't help that the entire story hinted at Ikki's dad as an important plot element only to have stand around explaining tricks and stuff.

To be fair though, the translation for this series wasn't the best so there could have been important information that I might have missed. This series changed groups a lot of times during the course of its run so the consistency of the translation could have cause confusion.

I didn't see any problem within 10 chapters... just showed ikki's introduction to airtrecks, and his steady growth in the field. Judging air gear by its first 10 chapters would give the impression that it would be a nearly unanimously loved series... would be like initial d meets beelzebub..... the only issue was later, when it turned its story to a plot worthy of the power rangers.

Obviously saxenas1 has an incredible insight and can see the future. He saw what everyone else didn't...and he didn't share it with the rest of the world, the stingy bastard.

I stopped reading soon after the concept of the "Gravity Children" was introduced.

I'm not sad to see it go. Oh Great can't write a consistently good story if his life depended on it. He should have kept drawing hentai instead of trying his hand at shounen manga.
I think the best possible thing for him to do would be partnering up with a writer (aka the Bakuman solution).
