I'm from Poland (so of course I cheer for mu country), but as we almost always not advance into more serious stages, I always cheer for Italy ^^

Yeah, right "Mecz rozpoczęcia. Mecz o wszystko. Mecz o honor" (Starting game. Last-chance game. Game for honor.) ;PP I really hope it won't look like that this year *sigh*

in the Holland Mcdonald CM
did they say
with 100% hund flesh ??
am i missing some joke or do you eat...dog meat?

Lol that's what you heard? It's interesting how you heard "h" for "r". They say "rundvlees", which is beef.
So no, you're not missing a joke, and we don't eat dog meat.
The only jokes (although I'm not even sure if it was actually supposed to be part of the joke) you might have missed are the so-very-Dutch pronunciation of "Scheiße" and "Hap Holland Hap" (a pun on Hup Holland Hup, which is part of a cheering song).

And cheers to Poland too. Having traveled in almost all Europe I can say Polish are one of the few people we Italians share a special bond with. Not by chance our countries mentioned each other in their anthem.
I'll support both Poland and Greece on group A, it's gonna be though but I hope they can make it to quart-finals!

I have been and am always supporting Germany.
And of course, I want Germany to win this time.
But group B is such a pain. How could they put them all together? none
I can't predict which country will win this. But hopefully it's Germany.
The majority of the citizens in my place are orange-ish. bigrazz
It's football, so majority doesn't win.

Euro 2012 has started with Poland vs Greece and at this moment Poland is winning one nil. however that Greece player did not deserve that red card, i mean it was a fair challenge.

its 1-1 now
so far , euro 2012 first match was ridiculously bad … whining little kids , red cards, dirty tackles , keeper got kicked out .. i think both countries were panicked since it was the first match

Gonna be rooting for Denmark but Group B is like the group of death.. The winner of group B is probably going to make it really far..

Russia is having a better time against Czech Republic than i thought. i honestly thought the Czechs will win this match but right now Russia is winning 2-0.

Also Denmark is gonna have a hard time tomorrow.

I would say very poor refereeing destroyed that game. Some poor poor poor decisions made, and he kept on disturbing the flow of play blowing his damn whistle every time a man went down. Pathetic.

It happens far too often in football. Decent refs are so rare nowadays.

russia vs czech republic (4-1)
i guess its really hard to play against a team as fast as russia
cech who was good at champion league couldnt even do anything
russia is indeed better and faster than czech republic , czech's defense was just so so so so bad , they gave russia alot of spaces to move and make goal attempts
although i have to say pilar's goal was brilliant .. brilliant move (it reminded me of messi's scoring style haha)
and arshavin played very well ..... better than when he played for arsenal

cant wait to see how the germans handle ronaldina and friends biggrin

The greek player red card was ridiculous, he didn't deserve any of the yellow cards he received.

Poland started very well but were too afraid to lose on the second half and held back. Their mentality was set when their coach said pre-match that a draw was ok.
The Greek defence is very tight and organized, but make matches very boring to watch.

Russia did what was expected of them, a comfortable win, and I expect them to win against Greece and Poland too.

So far I'm doing well on my school's sweepstakes, I had a Poland 2 x 1 Greece from which I profited some points since I got Greece's goals Right and Russia 3 x 0 Czech Rep. from which I got some points for getting the winner right.

My bets for tomorrow:
2 x 0 Holland win
3 x 1 Germany win

Tell me no

It seems like the ref who did the Poland - Greece match has established a reputation as being too trigger happy with the cards and makes contentious decisions, according to some La Liga fans on other forums I frequent.

But yeah, those decisions he made during the match were pathetic at best.

If Salpingidis played the full 90, the Greeks would've won this one imo. Still a mystery to me why he started on the bench. I Just think he's a great poacher, and always has an eye for net, wheter it's himself scoring or creating chances for others.

Russia is shaping out to be the real deal. From what they displayed today, they have the potential to surprise all of us, and might win the tournament imo. If their main attacking core can get in the mood like they did today, there only could be one or two teams that can genuinely outplay them in the Euros. Plus, they've probably got the most underrated goalkeeping pair participating atm, and you can see why I'm so high on them right now.

The match I'm kinda eagerly anticipating this weekend is the Ireland - Croatia match. Somehow, I believe the winner of this match (if there is one) will might be the surprise team that makes a great run, potentially to the semis or the final itself. I just don't feel the Italians prospects, especially if Spain's goes into one of those moods on Sunday, and thrashes them 3-0.

I'm portuguese so i want Portugal to win.
Unfortunatly i don't see that happening. We have a bunch of prima donnas out there who really piss me off. We just don't have the sort of team that can win like we had for example in 2000 or 2004. Our defense is nothing spectacular and our strikers are not that good.
If however by a stroke of luck we manage to get a good result against Germany today we just might get the momentum needed to push foward.
Germany or Holland to win it all.
That way we could at least say we lost to a winner.

an incredibly shock (well not that surprising) .. netherlands v denmark (0-1)
i guess we shall not underestimate any teams , the dutch were dominating for the whole match , they got alot of chances , but they just couldnt finish it
van persie ... people made him sound like the worlds best player , but he actually just scored at arsenal and couldnt do anything internationally AGAIN ... there were supposed to be 2 handballs , (lousy ref , again)

denmark's defense was just so tight , they could make counterattack very fast and very effective

now lets see the germans mad
