I hope the series ends with suzuka giving birth to a cute baby and the pair getting married , also maybe under the stress of parenthood yamato finally achieve results for his track and field...

I agree that by developing the story towards how the couple works together is better then betrayal or more drama..hope for a happy ending

Quote from blakraven66Quote from InSoMiAHow annoying if there is another problem in the story. I hope the author can solve this situation properly... I hope the story will go smoothly to the very end.
That'd be boring...what attracted me to suzuka was the problems they always had due to suzuka's attitude

Yamato has caused his share of problems for Sukuza too.

I hope there aren't many more major problems between the two of them, and that the rest of the story concentrates on the two of them dealing with things as a team.

One of the big reasons I like Suzuka so much is that the story keeps moving forward to new problems and issues, rather than repeatedly recycling the same problems and situations over and over (the way some other romance manga do).

Right now, they've got the baby to deal with and the families' reactions (especially her father's). I hope they do keep the baby, which leads to a whole new set of problems: marriage, supporting themselves, what to do about college and their athletic careers, etc.

If Kouji Seo concentrates on dealing with those issues, there's plenty there to keep the story interesting. If he starts dragging in more romantic rivals, betrayals, a break up, etc. I'd find that boring: been enough of that already, and (to me) it seems the two of them have pretty much worked out the problems in their relationship and are settled down for the long haul as a couple

I agree there is still a lot to continue the story for a while, but then again there was a lot to continue the arc when suzuka went to u.s or the arc when honoka was yamato's gf or the post temperature arc... so if Kouji Seo follows his pattern then this will all end (the manga) in two volumes. but hopefully he takes this to atleast five volumes cause there is more than enough material to go even past that (i think...but then again i'm not a writer so...)

That's already a damn big problem if you ask me. Why make them suffer more though they suffer enough? sad
I don't know how would they deal it but I live it to the author not on my own. smile wink grin

I would have liked to have seen something about Sukuza's experiences in the U.S., but creating a believable U.S. high school setting, athletic teams, etc. probably would have involved a lot of research and other extra work.

After she came back to Japan, Suzuka did say that (while in the U.S.) she'd been very busy with school and training, hadn't been involved with anybody (especially not Arima...), roll eyes and that the little Arima had talked to her had mostly been about Yamato's track performance.

So it sounds like not much happened in the U.S. of any significance to the main story about Suzuka and Yamato's relationship, and it probably wasn't worth the effort to come up with new characters, new schools, new athletic fields, and everything else needed for her stay in the U.S. (especially since most of the new material would never be used again).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

As far as Honoka goes, if she and Yamato had stayed together longer, it just would have made it that much harder to explain them breaking up and him winding up with Suzuka.

Honoka went after a guy she knew was already in love with another girl, and I think the only reason she got him (even temporarily) was that he was too discouraged by Suzuka's constant rejections to realize that Suzuka was finally starting to return his feelings.

Besides, I'm tired of romances where half the story is about the guy and the girl's involvements with other people instead of each other. smile wink grin I'm glad that Suzaka seems to be concentrating on the relationship of the two main characters, with only minor distractions by other people.

What I want to see in the series but will probably not happen...

1. Arima actually claiming to be the father of the baby.
2. Suzuka admitting it.
3. Yamato snaps and breaks-up with her.
4. Suzuka in a state of depression while pregnant.
5. Suzuka tries to abort the baby but is stopped by her family (since they know already).
6. As this is happening, Yamato winds up in sleeping with either Honoka, Miki (my personal preference), or that other chick who wanted to have sex w/ him.
7. Asahina family tries contacting Yamato but can't find him.

That's it for now...to be continued. smile wink grin

Would it be a drag if the story somehow followed with the whole, if not partial, time that Suzuka would be having the child until she gives birth to it... confused

Hmmm, how would it be if Yamato and Suzuka's parents meet up just to talk about the whole situation.

Yamato should be completely busy with track and deciding on that they should have the child.

Just anxious for the next chapters... I decided on watching the anime anyway. Just up to volume nine...?

Now it gets me wondering on what Honoka, Miki or even Yasunobu are gonna do once they find out about Yamato and Suzuka having a baby...

Yasunobu might either compliment Yamato or not, a thumbs up or a frown for it. Miki and Honoka of course would be surprised laugh but it'll be very interesting on how or what their opinions might be...

Then again, Saotome would have a crack or roll on the floor laughing eyes

Hope the next chapters come up.

i think both of their parents would be reasonable to them
it would be natural, i guess, for the both of them to get a scolding from their parents
but i don't think that the parents, especially that of Suzuka's, will push suzuka into some kind of a depression because that would be very bad for the baby..

hmmm...usually the guy in this kind of situation gets the short end of the stick bigrazz

what i mean to say is suzuka will probably get out of this with just a scolding while yamato will probably have the crap kicked out of him from his and suzuka's parents laugh

i think the beating that yamato will receive from both parents would be "light"
compared to the beating the Kinugasi-sempai (? former captain) will give yamato.. hahaha

Not necessarily: depends on what else is going on. Lots of room for tackling 'What about school?", "How do we support ourselves?", "Is Suzuka ever going to learn how to cook!!! confused ", etc.

I'm anxious too: been a lot of cliffhangers lately. eek

Now that Yamato's told Suzuka he wants her to have the baby, he better follow up with a marriage proposal or he'll be in some really deep sewage. biggrin

Personally, I think it would make sense for them to talk to Ayano-san for ideas first, before they tackle her or his parents.

As I understand it, the anime ends at the point where Suzuka takes Yamato to visit Kazuki's grave and then confesses to liking him (Yamato).

The reaction I'm really curious about is Miho's: this will permanently destroy her hopes for winding up with Yamato.

I"ve always felt a little sorry for Miho: she's had a major crush on Yamato for years, but he's never really noticed; just thinks of her as a kid sister and takes all her talk of him marrying her as a joke.

I wonder if she'll take this calmly, swallow her jealousy, and wish them the best, or if she'll add a plot twist by doing something to try to break things up or cause problems...

i don't think so...even if it was just a peek they did add a new romantic interest for Miho, you know the guy who yamato treated just the way kinugasa treated yamato (forgot his name). the reaction i want to know are the parents for now. what would they say?

lolz. Miho? I don't think she's really a major love interest. lolz. <_<;; at least, I definitely haven't seen her jealous side... I mean, if she were jealous, she would be flipping out when Suzuka and Yamato first started going out.

Lol. Whoever said "when will Suzuka ever learn how to cook!?" is my hero. Hahah. You'd think that her mom would've taught her something. <_<;

Miho's a fairly minor character and mostly she's pretty nice about things. But every now and then I get the distinct impression she would love a chance to dunk Suzuka in a vat of boiling oil.

As far as the cooking: is it true that eggs will explode if you try to hard boil them in a microwave? My apartment doesn't have a microwave, so I can't try the experiment even if I were crazy enough to be tempted. biggrin

My guess is that the only problem would be Suzuka's father; her mother and sister both seem to approve of Yamato. They might be upset because of the carelessness that got Suzuka pregnant, but I think they'll be more annoyed than angry.

Same for Yamato's parents: they seemed to like Suzuka from the one time they met her.

I wouldn't mind reading more chapters from this manga even after all that has happened... eyes

There's still college, track and I also wouldn't mind other and even new characters appearing to make things more interesting smile wink grin

Like if Yamato gets to continue the track in college, who would be the captain in that college where he and Suzuka got admitted in confused A female strict captain confused

Other new classmates in college as well might meddle with him...

Then again, Yamato did state that he'd sacrifice anything for the one most important to him so college sounds a bit hazy. Are girls in Japan admitted in even if they are carrying a child before they enter the college? I'm just not sure there but here in our country, as long as there's perseverance, they can eyes

Yasunobu might even agree with Yamato's situation since, as of what I recalled in the anime as well as the manga, he's so deep when it comes to such matters like there's no right or wrong when it comes to love or outsiders could only watch so getting pregnant with the one you love doesn't really sound bad if you prescribe to that way... smile then reality kicks in and makes it complicated..

Yasunobu doesn't strike me as being enthusiastic about things like committment, responsibility, marriage, etc.

So I think he's likely to either yell or laugh at Yamato, because he wound up in this situation because he didn't use the condom Yasunobu gave him.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope this series continues for a long time, as long as the mangaka has a steady supply of fresh ideas.

Some manga seem to drag on and on, recycling the same situations over and over again, until they just get boring to read. I hope Kouji Seo is wise enough to wrap Suzuka up with a good ending before he runs out of ideas and things start dragging.
