The story is maturing or developing along with the characters eyes

Miho even realized and accepted that they wouldn't end up with each other, her and Yamato smile for an example bigrazz

Scary thought for the day:

Has anybody else noticed how often Miki is shown hanging around Yosunobu?

Now if those two wind up together, I may declare war on Japan... smile wink grin smile wink grin smile wink grin

(I wouldn't wish Yosunobu on my worst enemy.)

hey, don't be like that.

I actually think that there's going to be a "mutual click" between Yasu and Miki since the first time they've met in the Manga.

i think that their chemistry is a bit exciting. They have that "The more you hate, the more you love" thing. It's so fun.

I can't wait for the next chapters.

Like Yasunobu mentioned when Yamato and Honoka were an item and Miki was troubled about it...

There's no right or wrong when it comes to love. Outsiders can only watch. eyes

And besides, we really can't push what we want, we could only read on smile wink grin

To me, Miki is far too good for Yasunobu.

After the way she sacrificed her own feelings for Yamato and acted as a really good friend to him and Suzuka even though she wanted Yamato herself, I just can't see Miki getting stuck with somebody who doesn't think twice about taking advantage of friends or betraying them.

(Yasunobu is by far my least favorite character in the series: if he'd disappeared from of the story by the end of chapter #1, I'd have been very happy. smile )

I think Yasu and Miki will indeed become an item.
I remember this 1 chapter where Miki sent a message to Yasu
asking for him to treat her to a meal (like some kind of a date)..
i believe this happened when yamato and suzuka were on their escapade..

and rightly so.. yasu did not accept miki's offer.. though there's this hint of miki not being serious with yasu... biggrin

But still, it would be great to have a secondary love team.

It would bring more spice in the manga.

But then again, i can only read. embarrassed

There's plenty of spice in the manga with the whole unplanned pregnancy thing but i also believe that Yasu and Miki will end up together at some point in the future of this fantastic manga. ^_^

man whats with all the Yasu bashing? I can understand the bits and pieces about his one track self-centered personality but common...

To be perfectly honest hes a far better friend than Yamato deserves... To start out with, Yamato is the biggest loser by far in this series. I will agree that he has grown a lot, but he still has a lot of maturing, character wise, to do. Is Yamato someone you would even associate with? Yasu has been there for him since he started school. Almost always listened to Yamato whine and cry about every little thing. Dragged him to a track meet he should have been at anyway where he ended up helping Suzuka out, not necessarily intentional. Ill admit not all of his advice has been all that great, but then again.. its not like people usually run off asking someone every little thing about something either. While the situation where he had Yamato tag along to the karaoke bar/date issue seemed troublesome at the time it really wasnt bad in the long run. But if you ran into a friend on the street who had nothing better to do and looked like that what would you have done? My last bit for Yasu is when Yamoto and Suzuka ran off to the inn together. While i will admit Yasu did screw up by getting caught... he never ratted Yamato out either. He said he didnt know what they were talking about. Miki let that one out of the bag.. but it wasnt necessarily a bad thing either... the end result anyway.

So anyway my opinion is that Yasu is great friend wise.

As far as Miki goes... she has the best personality in the series as far as im concerned >.> and i would just assume nobody get her ^^v but i cant say theres any relation to her trying to get Yasu to buy her food and going out.

A very clear initial post you have here...

Details are in check and, ehe, I wonder if there would be some other post that would refute this one...

Hmmm, good one

hmm long discussion about yasu and miki eh? well i agree with those who liked them both as individual characters...both are great side characters and they obviously bring the spice in the story...both are great friends indeed...i even think that yasu is a better guy than yamato laugh

and the way the story is going they might end up together with this special spark between them..but..

what i'm not really fond of in a typical romance is when the side character got rejected by the lead, they usually end up with the lead's bestfriend or another major side character...i mean its like a consolation love story..yes its good that they wont end up totally loveless, but for me its better that they end with someone not so regular in the story like someone they met, just not for the 4th character in the story.. no its more convincing that way, again for me.. laugh

yasu is a good guy, he's been by yamato's side through the whole manga, would a friend of yours help you as much as yasu helped yamato ? (mine wouldn't)
about yasu ending up with miki..I think its highly possible, but also think that the ending (their ending) will be left hanging

Wow! Are all of us even reading the same manga? I really didn't expect so many people to jump in saying what a great guy Yosunobu is. eek

Seeing all the posts by Yasunobu fans, I went back and took another look at some of the chapters that gave me a bad impression of him: I still don't like the guy.

Here's how I see this:

Yosunobu may help out a friend once in a while, but he's also a smooth talker who'll take advantage of or even betray a friend if it will help his chances of having fun with some ladies.

Yamato is easy going, socially inept, and doesn't have enough determination to stand up for himself (especially at the beginning of the series).

But I'm not going to admire Yosunobu for taking advantage of someone who's easy to take advantage of just to suit his own ends. no

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. At the beginning of the series, Yamato recalls childhood experiences with Yasunobu:

Yosunobu repeatedly pressures Yamato into helping him spy on the women in the spa, and eventually runs into the spa and blames everything on Yamato.

End result is Yosunobu gets lots of sympathy and cuddling from the ladies, while everybody (including Aunt Ayano and Miho) is convinced Yamato is a liar, a bully, and a pervert. (The real liar/bully/pervert was Yosunobu, but nobody believed Yamato's version even though he was the one telling the truth.)

That's the incident that made me despise Yosunobu initially, especially since the way Yamato remembered it felt as though this wasn't the only time Yosunobu deliberately took advantage of Yamato and caused him problems.

Later episodes did nothing to cancel out my initial bad impression of Yasunobu.

2. The Christmas holiday when Suzaka went to a training camp.

Yosunobu lied to Yamato and tricked him into a group date, pressured him into hanging around, then pressured him into going on a double date a few days later.

Admittedly, Yamato should have had the guts to just say no to Yasunobu and avoid the whole mess. But I don't think much of Yasunobu for deliberately lying to a friend and pushing him into a situation Yasunobu knew could wreck things between him and Suzuka.

(I was a little surprised that section wound up with Suzuka forgiving Yamato so quickly: she had every reason to be really steamed up about what happened.)

3. Suzuka and Yamato's overnight trip.

Yosunobu agreed to stay home on that day, but went out looking for girls even though he knew getting caught had a real risk of major problems for his friends.

The text message from Miki about a dinner date was an attempt to bribe him to keep his word and stay home, since she realized he'd be more interested in flirting with girls than in keeping his word to a friend.

(By the time Suzuka's parents called Miki, they had already guessed that Suzuka was with Yamato somewhere. So I think Miki was right to tell them the truth. If she'd kept trying to cover things up, she would have made things worse, not better.)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Miki as a friend: really liked Yamato, but was willing to give up her interest because she put her friendship for Yamato and Suzuka first.

Yasunobu as a friend: might help out a friend sometimes. But give him a chance to hang around with girls, and he'll lie, break his word, or twist a friend's arm, even if he risks causing real problems for his friend.

Yasunobu's Yasunobu as each character is in their character. Since here we are tackling about Yasunobu, I'll quote tanstaafl's remarks on the guy and also share my opinions about them. smile

Character background reference for Yasunobu. Why hasn't Yamato totally ended his friendship with this smooth talker after all the time that Yamato goes to his Aunt's place, Yasunobu seems to always takes advantage?

Yamato did realize something after that date and park chapter which got him ended up with Suzuka at the camp in the long run. Better than doing nothing, I guess things had to go a different way for Yamato to realize things. If it weren't for that date thing, would Yamato go to Suzuka?

The writer had to do that, who would make the story more interesting if the secret trip went on smoothly? The parents wouldn't be introduced and the things that followed would go with less spice. Yasunobu, I guess, just did that role. But I guess Saotome could do it as well but, they were at Hawaii if I recall correctly..

Would you look at that, they're exact opposites eyes
