I'm looking for a manga where the male protagonist is in the gutter (figuratively) and somehow someway climbs out to become great. I want to watch a transformation occur with the male protagonist that leaves me fist pumping at the end with tears in my eyes. This doesn't have to be some sort of rags to riches story or anything. Just someone who is in a terrible point in their life and pushes through to find fulfillment.

Please no yaoi, shounen-ai, gender bender, yuri, shoujo-ai, smut, or rape (just can't stomach it).

Thanks!
