There probably is already a thread like this, but I would like to ask for something specific.

I draw, and there is a specific competition which I am entering, and I decided to have my subject be 'music', or more specifically the feeling of music that brings people's hearts together, like magic. Because I'm a geek, or course, manga is involved biggrin

So far, I've looked at Baka-updates's categories (all of them with the word music in them), and I have searched to no prevail. I've only read a couple of music manga, and the only one that spoke to me was Sayonara Piano Sonata, the art was wonderful, I loved the portrayal of music, and the story really inspired me.

If you're too lazy and skipped along, I basically want to read a manga whose quality and focus on music is like Sayonara Piano Sonata to help me with my piece.

Thank you!!!

Uhm, I'm not so sure, if this will be what you have been looking for, but maybe you can give the following ones a try ... ^^"

* Beck - Great storyline focusing on friendship, love and passion for music.
* Nodame Cantabile - Same here.
* Teen Spirit - If you don't mind Manhwa.
* Mashikaku Rock - A pretty cute on with some character growth and a music background.

" feeling of music that brings people's hearts together, like magic" -> You should definitely watch/read Sakamichi no apollon, about jazz.
It's a coming of age story, but the atmosphere (especially in the anime, with the amazing ost), and the 'magic' of the music are incredible.
