Hello, kind folks, it's nice to be here. My name is Marlene and I'm 20 years old. I'm from Norway and I'm hoping to become a librarian and/or archivist in the future. I'm probably what people would describe as plain and normal, but I don't really mind it; I guess I actually prefer being boring rather than interesting.
I enjoy slow-paced slife of life manga without too much drama and action. I tend to read josei and seinen over shoujo and shonen. I do like romance stories, but I'm always looking for manga where relationships and marriage are not the main focus or main goal, because I can't really relate to those kind of desires myself. I'm content and happy being on my own, I'm not really looking for anyone, and even fictional characters with that same mind-set make me feel less weird. I'm alone, but not lonely. Something like that.
I don't know what else to say, but if there are things anyone wonders about, do not hesitate to ask me. I'm hoping to get along with everyone. Take care!

P.S. Your English is rather good. Does "from Norway" simply mean you were born there, or is English actually not your first language  ?

Very impressive! My second and third languages are nowhere near fluent

Hehe. Well, English is compulsory for 10 years in schools here, so I've spent half of my life learning English, so it's just expected to be somewhat good, I guess. (At least here.) And my oral English is nowhere as good as my writing. I really struggle with the pronounciation and such, you can clearly hear that I'm not a native when I speak.

While I can't relate to being single, I can relate to your "I'm alone, but not lonely" mentality. I've hit a point in my life where this is true, but that was also the moment when I felt I was ready to accept somebody into my life. I don't think I could have said the same thing as a teenager.
I hope you do become a librarian. It was always my dream to become a writer, and if not a writer, than a librarian. I ended up working in a different field (for the money), but that has still always been my dream. I hope it comes true for you.
