I have this question for a while who is superior Rai or Lord. i read in some chapter they r equal but all the clan leaders kneel before the lord but they don't do the same in front of Rai some time it look like lord is superior than Rai but in some chapter they say he has the authority to kill any noble and any clan leader and also he is a mighty being. So i m confused now so give some about this topic [m]

The nobles kneel before the Lord because she is ( and he was) the highest representative of authority. The Noblesse is the almighty enforcer. He is feared and respected, but he does not have authority. Sure, I don't think any noble would deny his request, but that is out of personal preference. The Lord they would obey out of loyalty to the hierarchy, if nothing else, even if they disliked the Lord.

Edited version: My brain had a blank spot regarding my first take on the scale of actual power between the two. Rai is currently the acknowledged pinnacle of personal power with no known equals in universe. Seeing as one of his roles is to act as the ultimate deterrent to potential abuse of power by the nobles, this is a given.

Agreed, mostly.
Not to mention that Rai's lifespan decreases every time he uses his powers. Seriously, powers so strong it literally kills him to use them, how screwed up is that?

The Noblesse is more powerful, but the Lord has a higher (the highest) rank.

Current Leaders were not aware of status that Rai holds. Previous leaders were aware and hence they bowed before Rai.
Rai also have the right to order. And I dont think he have to 'request' something...Leaders are bound to follow him,not out of personal preference but out of obligation as Rai also holds equal status.
Rai can defeat Lord as in their previous fight Rai only attacked once and maximum times he was at defence. If both of them have fought at full power I am sure Rai might be the winner.

In terms of authority Lord is superior. She is the ruler so no doubt about it. But that doesnt means Rai doesnt have authority to command.

I'm curious as to how do you interpret the situations as Rai having actual, formal authority over anyone? All who know who he is give him a wide berth and complete respect, but I don't remember even a single instance where he has used anything even resembling actual authority over anyone else other than Frankenstein, barring the recent chapter where he told Gejutel and Ragar to leave presenting Franken to the Lord to him, and I see this as them granting this out of respect, rather than submitting to formal authority. One difference here is actually kneeling before the Lord, but just respectfully bowing to the Noblesse.

People do things for him due to the respect they give to him and his station, but I don't see any nobles formally submitting to his authority. They would if he asked, or if the had actually accepted the seat of Lord, but he doesn't ask it and didn't want the position.

How you do see the situation as? I'm very curious to see an alternative interpretation and the reasoning behind it.

A Noblesse is a title, which distinguishes him from all other Nobles as their hidden protector. But we all know he is more than just a protector. While the Lord represents a symbol of authority, the Noblesse is said to represent a symbol of power. He is an executioner. He kills Nobles who commits hideous crimes the violate a Noble's code of conduct. This is the main reason why the Noblesse is revered and feared among the Nobles. They Nobles respect him out of fear.

The Noblesse and the Lord are both equal in status. But the Noblesse is stronger.
Lets presume that Raizel fully rested at his shrine and is at FULL power.
He could utterly destroy the Lord without any worry to his condition.
Plus, the fact that Raizel could have taken the position of Lord if he accepted the proposal makes things quite evident who is the most worthy. So in the end, the Noblesse is the Superior.

I agree with the authority part. It was even stated that the Lord is the symbol of authority, while the Noblesse is the symbol of power. The Noblesse is hold to high esteem among clan leaders, who were the only people who knew of his existence. Therefore, they do his bidding because they respect him. Notice how Rai does not kneel when greeting the Lord. I think that gives you an idea of how much respect he has among the nobles, even the Lord.

However on term of pure power, the Noblesse is far stronger than the Lord. I don't believe even with a few thousand years would the Lord reach Rai's level. What Rai stated was even the previous Lord would have difficulty bringing that much power with the incomplete Ragnarok. He was comparing the current Lord to the previous Lord, not to himself. There is a reason why the Noblesse is the symbol of power

True. I had a blank spot on my memory for that part. Especially since we have never seen Rai fight seriously. Even with Raskreia it was merely clashing power vs power. No superspeed manouvres or attempting to physically hurt her. Rai > anyone else in power. 'nuff said.

Oh yeah. I really should remember that there is an edit button, instead of post-spamming. I'll have to fix that part of my brain as well.

Well in terms of POWER, Rai is definitely much more powerful. As Franky says that the Noblesse has the power to end any Nobles life if he decide it is the right decision. This is why many fear him and even thwarted the attack for 4 clan leaders. Rai's POWER do not diminish but instead his life force diminish as he uses his power. I believe that his POWER is limitless and beyond everything we know.

Well in terms of AUTHORITY, Lord deals with everything. All clan leaders act on his/her behalf while Rai watches them. There is a difference between authority and respect.

So you can say the Lord is like the President/Prime Minister while Rai is like the almighty creator or the king who watch from afar though circumstances changes this.

Since Rai is basically supposed to keep the nobles in their place, does this include the lord?

Rai is like the Jury, Judge, and Executioner of the Nobles. If they mess up big time, he can kill them. Because of this it's not that he has authority, it's that he just keeps them in their place. In other words, he has the power to completely take over all the Nobles and easily lead a coup d'eta so in terms of Authoritative power he can have the highest if he so chooses.

Despite this, Rai just wants to live a quiet, peaceful life and is just fine observing the noble's actions and only stepping in when absolutely necessary. Also since he can't use his powers often since they kind of kill him.

To summarize the answer to your question: The Noblesse is the most "Superior" being on the Planet.
