In the authors' notes section of the October issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine, manga creator Ranmaru Kotone confirmed that the Blood-C manga ended on Saturday. The manga adapted Production I.G and CLAMP's 2011 supernatural horror television series of the same name, as well as the 2012 Blood-C: The Last Dark film that followed.

The manga debuted in Monthly Shōnen Ace in May 2011, and Kadokawa Group Publishing released the third book volume this past May. (Ryō Hazuki launched a separate manga series in Newtype Ace's inaugural issue, and Hazuki's manga already ended in May after two volumes.) Dark Horse Comics licensed Kotone's manga for North America.

Kotone also drew The Girl Who Leapt Through Time manga, which Bandai Entertainment published in North America, and created the Diasta of Ultima Thule manga.
