This.

As for everyone else who seem to think that this turn of events was extremely predictable, etc. It was not at all extremely predictable. If it weren't for all those speculation topics years ago, most of us, me included, might never have even guessed. In fact way back when the Tobi/Obito the ...

But, I do remember that theory. Back then, I brought it up several times on different forums only to be shot down over and over again. When Tobi first showed up with the one eyed mask, we knew the names of maybe five Uchiha. Only one Uchiha lost an eye. Now everyone can go to hell.

Anyway, I would like to know what happened to him. Obito did look pretty much dead during the flashback arc...is this going to be another Pein type fight, where the real enemy is in the background using several bodies to fight? That's the only thing that makes sense at this point. We know that healing arts are not very effective in the world of Naruto.

. I'm just wondering how he got so strong so quickly to be on par with the 4th Hokage when Naruto was born.

He was not on par with the 4th, he got rolf stomped.

Quote from whitedragon_nall
A little confused over the reveal. Didn't Kisame refer to him as Lord Mizukage a long time ago? How would Obito survive his death, get strong enough to control Kurama, attack Konoha and hold his own against Minato, then, become Mizukage? It doesn't seem like there is enough time for all that to happ ...

Kisam referred to him as Lord Mizukage because he put Yagura under a genjutsu. This meant that while the face of the Mizukage was Yagura the one in charge was Obito. Obito probably unlocked the Mangekyou sharingan somehow and subconsciously sent the part of his body that was supposed to be trapped under a rock to another dimension. He did not really hold his own against the 4th as, as you can see he got curb stomped hard.

Quote from ultima50
The one who fought the fourth was another tobi, probably another uchiha who saved obito from being crushed. Obito then inherited his techniques and became our current tobi.

That makes little sense. The time-space technique seems unique to that particular Uchiha like Shisui's amazing hypnosis. I doubt they can be inherited.

Quote from jrdragon2003
Chances are that he isn't exactly Obito, but someone using his body. Tobi was someone old enough for Madara to recognize as a fake. So it's possible that this is someone else.

The Tsuchikage MET MADARA and he didn't know.

If it weren't for all those speculation topics years ago, most of us, me included, might never have even guessed. In fact way back when the Tobi/Obito theory was proposed most people thought it wasn't true, and the theory was accepted as false after Tobi said he was Madara. That was so long ago that to a person who wasn't aware of the Tobi/Obito theory, they would've completely forgotten about Obito by now. The only sticking point of that theory was the eye placement and similar name. It was definitely not too much considering this is shonen afterall.

Yup your right, I'm for one would have never known if I didn't read those speculation years ago (even thought I didn't agree with them) and yes I still believe its not tobi but someone using his body.

were the corpses of the uchiha clan ever found
one crazy theory could be that the uchiha clan did not fall but somehow tobi helped them escape and planted corpses behind .Itachi mightve not known about it.and next thing you know the whole uchiha clan rises and attacks

but then whose eyes had TOBI stored in the vaults.
and i think obito was actually trained and given a mission to die maybe

Dude, go install a sarcasm-o-meter. You really need one

Ok guys, since most of you are confused about how obito got so strong to be able to fight the fourth, let me put this theory.

The one who fought the fourth was another tobi, probably another uchiha who saved obito from being crushed. Obito then inherited his techniques and became our current tobi.

Uh, no. Please read up on Naruto before posting. GoldenKaos was not out of line.

I applaud the person who thought of the whole tobi=obito theory. Well done.

Anyway, Kishi better have some good explanation for this or this is going to be the biggest ass pull of the century.

The only reservation I had against the concept was that the elder ninja held Kakshi and his peers back when the demon fox attacked - because they were too young. I sumrised that this meant that they were too weak and that Tobi in extension was too strong to be the same age (after taking on the 4th and all). However, in hindsight, it is apparent that they were being held back from fighting the fox because they were too young to die needlessly (or without children), not that they were too weak

I know this is from dozens of chapters back, but really? I thought that was the most painfully obvious reason of all. They even said that was the reason they kept them penned up. Then there was all the subtext that people were reading into in that chapter which just was not there. Sometimes there is no subtext. Sometimes it's exactly what it says it is.

Anyway, ain't got much to say about this chapter. Also, sorry. I just had to rant about it

Makes....no....sense!!!! WHY is it Obito??

Something is way wrong, non of his actions make sense if its Obito. no

1. He LOVED being part of the Uchiha, so much that he protected his eyes behind goggles. Why want them dead later?
2. How can someone develop that much hate that quickly? Most of the hate-filled had some heavy things happen to them, he only had a rivalry like Naruto's minus the heavy shit.
3. The obvious "power-up out of the ass" question.
4. The obvious "how did he live" question.
5. Why isn't he half blind with his original mangekyo still there? He's obviously used it enough. And if he is why hasn't he transplanted it yet? he has NOOOO eye shortage...probably cant decide bigrazz like a woman with 20 pairs of shoes

And with so many unanswered questions... "drum roll"... Q the long flashback sequence eek eek

They either die a hero or live long enough to see themselves become a villain.
LOL...

I laughed so hard when I read that. But in Obito's case, he experienced both treatments for his character. He died a hero in Kakashi's heart. And lived long enough to see himself become a villain in Kakashi's mind.

Whatever Kishimoto brings up for future chapters, I am completely sure that Obito is not 100% the same Obito who died at the bridge. He's been revived somehow. The white & black Zetsu were probably related to how Obito became Tobi. It would explain why they became so loyal to Tobi-Obito.

Ya, im with you here... when people started talking about tobi=obito and i saw deidara's arm grown back... I started thinking the only way to keep obito alive was with zetsu's powers but at that time they didnt show zetsu as tobi's right hand man.

bro, it is kishi. he revived orochimaru so many times that goku pales in comparison. he revived a whole city after its death and he killed jiraya in a manner that does not suit him. heck,
whenever a character is cornered, he invents a new technique with which he dominates the battle. and lets not forget his best technique, talk no jutsu, with which naruto tamed the mighty and fearful kyuubi, talked nagato into stopping his attack and so many things. it is good to use it once or twice, but now he's using it as a backdoor in case he runs out of new techniques.
kishi has been doing a lot of mistakes since around 2008 so I wont be surprised with anything might bring in the future, even if obito turned out to be a shinigami who inherited his powers after stabbing rin.

I think the answer to why Obito became so hatefull, powerfull and is able to change his body parts lies with Madara. Madara lived on for much longer, he even knew Nagato and was probably involved with Nagato getting the rinnengan. I thinkt that Madara rescued Obito, and manipulated him into becoming what he is now. At the same time Madara probably also created white and black zetsu, after seeing that Madara is able to use the wood element, i'm sure that Madara is the real mastermind behind this plan, and Obito is just a pawn, a tool that Madara created to make sure that someone continued his work after his death. This also explains why Konoha was attacked and why Obito hated Uchiha so much that he almost wiped them out completly. This has Madara written all over it
